Midnight

And she awoke in the middle of loud noises.
Her head spinning,
In the hot, humid moist.
There was bodies all around her.
Beneath her. Above her.

She had looked upon the mirror that early day.
And told herself that she was going to be 'okay'.
Yet, she should have known that the party weren't for people like her.
Not for an outcast like her.

You don't belong here, she thought,
Yet she ignored the voices,
And followed the rhythm of the music.
'You don't belong here,' the voice continued.
Yet, she followed the swishing of the skirts flying,

the swaying of the sympathetic sounds.

And back to the real world,
She was not a part of them.
She was lost.
Lost in another world.

With no way out.
