Fake smiles

Voices cut and bruise her skin.
Skin like shattered shards.
Crushing and crashing.
Blood splattering messages staining her poor fragile mind.

Yet sometimes she feels the urge to laugh.
Laugh at the fact that her name is spoken upon.
Really, though, she's broken.
Physically.
Emotionally.
Mentally.

She can't deal with their crap no more,
So she laughs and laughs and laughs.
'Smiling hides the pain', she'd say to herself.
'Keep smiling.'
'Damn it, smile harder.'

'Smile now and cry at home.'
