Dylan pulled back quickly as soon as he realised that he did a big mistake. His eyes opened up to meet with the hazel ones of his friend in front of him.

The american's heart broke as soon as he saw that his friend didn't do anything at all. Thomas was just standing there, no expression on his face, no words coming out of him.

The insecurity grew high in Dylan. He regretted doing it more than anything else but something was for sure, he'd never be that stupid again. And even if what he did was wrong those three seconds where he pressed his lips against the one of his best friend were perfect in any way for him. He felt happy, at peace but he wasn't ready for what was yet to come.

Thomas wasn't ready for any of that. The kiss hit him like a train. He expected everything but that. All he wanted was to cheer his friend up and now he just finished with giving Dylan fake hopes. It weren't really fake hopes though, when their lips crashed something inside of Thomas happened, something unusual. He felt as if his stomach would do a double flip, wanting more of the sweet taste on his lips.

Thomas always knew that Dylan manipulated something in him. He knew that Dylan had some kind of power over him but he never imagined it to be in this kind of way.

Thomas blinked, finally moving his face, looking down at the floor and ignoring Dylan's gaze. He looked down and faced the floor, not saying anything. It wasn't that he was mad or something alike that, it was just that he didn't know what to say. He had a lot of things he wanted to let go of but he didn't want to because he thought that would maybe ruin something between the two of them. Thomas was happy with their friendship why should he seek for more.

He looked up as he heard a loud gulp. Dylan's hands were shaking lightly.

"I'm sorry." The American said, looking at the floor aswell. He felt guilty for doing that to his best friend. He was scared that their friendship would end here and now. He knew that he had screwed up but he wasn't ready to let go of everything.

"Why would you?" Thomas said, looking up just to face the brunette looking at his arms. "I don't know..." he answered, his voice shaking, "I don't know why I'm apologising and I also don't know why I even did that. I'm so sorry Thomas I shouldn't have. But you were right you know... that thing with Tyler. Everything is correct. Everything you said is exactly what's happening to me."

Dylan pressed his palms against his face, trying to hide the way they were shaking more with each second that went by, "But you got the boy wrong."

Thomas stayed silent, he knew that his friend wasn't finished yet; "I am scared Thomas. I never felt like this. I never knew that I'd go around and be like 'Hey I'm Dylan O'Brien and I'm gay'. I never felt like this Thomas and I'm sorry you have to be the one who has to deal with it. I didn't want to I swear but... I do feel special around you. I feel like I could have something with you... a future."

It took the Brit a while but he smiled fondly afterwards. He took Dylan's hand in his and pushed his head up gently, facing the watery eyes of his friend. Dylan saw Thomas' grin and replied with a little smile. Everything the Brit did after that was pulling his friend close and wrapping his arms around the other. He cherished the way Dylan had just opened up to him. What Dylan just did was something he'd probably never be able to do.

Dylan breathed in the sent of his friend, enjoying the way he was being hold. His eyes closed slowly, his hand against Thomas' chest. The American could hear his friends' heart beat in his chest and that made his smile grow.

The blonde enjoyed holding his friend close like that. He wanted to do it more than once. He wanted to be more than whatever they were right now. It felt good. It felt right.
