Lord Carnavan's coffin creaked open.
His long, vampiric hands scraped along the black coffin. The cold, bitter wind blew eastward; the wind blew towards the garden pathway, where the gargoyles' eyes seared the night.

I awoke.
The dungeons' stench reeked of death.
"Sir", Lady Gemma Carnavan blocked my view of the cages. Olivia sulked.
"Let me out! I shall...".
"A servant girl, Sir! Margaret, and Elizabeth, they feed on her blood. Nasty habit, Sir! Her blood line's weak".
I ignored her, and noticed the black mirror.
There wasn't any shadow.
A night passed, then another one.
Lady Gemma Carnavan glided past the stone steps.
"Father!", she yelled.
I turned around.
Lord Carnavan bared his fangs, and fed on my neck.
I collapsed onto the dungeon stone steps, and the world as I knew of before, shattered. Darkness overcame me, and I slept for the rest of the night.
