I opened the Study door.

I held Lady Gemma Carnavan's right hand.

"Sir, the light".

"M'Lady, the moon shines brightly".

She focused on the statues.

"Father built them. They served as a warning to travelers not to trespass upon Mist Gate. Humans are interesting to me".

"I trespassed, M'Lady".

"You explored the Mist Gate cemetery, Sir; you explored when the cemetery wasn't dark. John Darlinghurst, and his wife, Elizabeth, has the same name as my family. Elizabeth Carnavan reads books on dark magicks; Mary Carnavan drains village girls' blood".

"And you, M'Lady?".

"I feed on all blood. My blood line shall be clean, not tainted. Lord Harold Carnavan, my ancestor, vowed to take care of us back in the seventeenth century".

"The Carnavan family's blood line...".

Lady Gemma Carnavan touched my mouth with her right hand.

"My blood shall be your blood, Sir. Forever". And she fed on my neck with her sharp fangs...until I fell into a deep unconsciousness.
