I awoke.


"Sir, the lateness of the hour has disturbed the house". Lady Gemma Carnavan sat near the arched hallway; Lady Catherine Carnavan glided towards me.

"I'm alive, and yet...".

"A vampire, Simon Darlinghurst, will obey the rules of the house. The cemetery, the garden, the gargoyle statues, and the forest, are out of bounds to humans; the village, docks, taverns, and inns, and the cobbled roads, are out of bounds. All vampires sleep in their black coffins; all vampires feed on human blood; all vampires kill".

"And if Lady Gemma Carnavan...".


"My daughter, like her sisters, shall continue the blood line. Because of your actions, Mist Gate has changed forever".

And, seconds later, Lady Catherine Carnavan opened the chamber doors with her right hand. Then she entered her private study down the eerie hallway.
