Ada:

As Ada began to understand humans within the Commonwealth, she began to understand the different types of relationships that many humans had with one another.

There was the type between mother and child. The type between friends. The type between a leader and their followers. And the romantic type- the type that she'd never in a million years thought that she would be able to feel.

But something between Sole and Ada shifted, and their relationship became less platonic and more romantic. Sole would flirt about with Ada, small smirks and grins every now and then, flirty winks whenever people had their heads turned. The thing that Ada loved the most from the shift in their relationship was the fact that every time that Sole left to go out on a mission, Ada always got a goodbye kiss.

Sole had worked hard to create an army of robots from the robot workbench that they had built with all Ada's plans. Sole had wanted the robots to be the runners between the different settlements- Robots were easily repaired- and heaven forbid, replaceable-, however loss of human life was not. They were all the same body, however each were different colours and had the name of the settlement written on the backside of the robot- so if they were ever lost, they knew which settlement needed a new runner. They all looked the same.

Except one.

Sole liked to programme the voice of each robot differently to each settlement. There was one settlement overrun by pesky men, and the only voice that could be used was the programmed voice of a sentry bot. Now, one of those things charging towards you was terrifying, however that particular bot did things to Ada. Things she'd never felt before- things that both terrified and excited Ada.

The two robot's were seen a lot together throughout the settlements- sometimes they would be off somewhere together- Deacon joked that they were off drinking oil together- but Sole would be none the wiser. Until they walked the long way home one day and stumbled onto the small patch of field Ada was sat.

Sole mumbled something about supermutants and a muffled apology before rushing off towards the settlement, feeling a tad upset but a whole lot of relief. Ada felt embarrassed- she'd clearly ruined the relationship between her and Sole, but maybe it was for the better. Maybe Sole needed to find someone of their own kind to be in a relationship with.

Cait:

Every once in awhile, a goon would wander into the Combat Zone and usually end up dead within five minutes- Cait usually counted, the record was three and a half minutes. It always happened, always had and always will. That's what Cait thought, anyway. Until the day Sole strolled in.

They strolled in, synth detective in a trench coat mumbling behind, rolling grenade after grenade on the floor towards the various raiders, sniper raised around corners to get those raiders hidden up on the upper floors. It took a matter of minutes before the floors were soaked in raiders blood, and Sole ran up onto the stage and stumbled into the cage, blood splatter on their face and clothes.

Sole took over Cait's 'contract' from Tommy, then as soon as they were outside the doors to the Combat Zone, Sole told Cait that she didn't have to follow them- she could be free.

Cait had never been a free person, and deep down knew that she probably never could be, else she'd be dead with a needle sticking out her arm. So she followed the rag tag pair, bunking down with them when they stopped in the broken shell of a house to sleep for a few hours, sharing the final bottle of purified water before they found somewhere to buy more. Cait was happy to fight, which was why Sole felt so happy about having her there- they didn't feel like they needed to babysit her. The romantic relationship being built between them was built on an understanding of one another, and the sex was always rough.
