BEAM POV

__________________

“I had a really nice time tonight.” Bank said once we pulled into the driveway. I smiled at him and nodded.

“Me too.” I said. He smiled wide at me.

“Just four more days and I’m having dinner with your parents.” He said smiling wide, excitedly. I laughed and nodded.

    “I know. Can’t wait.” I lied.

    “Me either.” He said.

Neither one of us said anything after that and let it fall silent for a few more moments before Bank spoke up.

“Beam.” Was all he said. I turned to look at him. His face was now inches from mine. He didn’t say anything else and just pressed his lips to mine, giving me sloppy and wet kiss.

I was fine with the kissing but when I felt him place his hand on my knee I wanted to push him away. He started slidding it slowly up my leg.

“Bank.” I said pulling away and grabbing his hand, stopping it. “Maybe we should wait. Maybe a few more dates.” I suggested. Bank nodded and pulled away.

“Maybe you’re right.” He said before pulling away. I nodded and grabbed my things before exiting the car.

Why couldn’t I just break up with him? It’s not like I couldn’t. I just didn’t want to hurt him.

And Forth, god Forth. Why does he freaking act like that? He stares at me all the time. He freaking kept touching his leg to mine under the table. What is he playing at? Maybe I should just kiss him and get it over with. Then I would be able to know his feelings and mine. But I couldn’t because of Bank.

“How was your date, sweetie?” Mom asked when I came in. I sighed and sat down next to her on the couch, laying my head on her lap.

“I’m troubled.” I admitted. She sighed and began rubbing my head.

“What is it dear?” She asked. I sighed and closed my eyes.

“What would you do if you were going on dates with someone, but not dating them, and one day someone comes back into your life. And even though you haven’t seen them for years you feel something towards them. You can’t do anything because of the first someone.” I said, explaining my situation, sort of. Mom sighed again and chuckled softly.

“Beam, you’re an amazing kid. You follow your heart, no matter what happens or where it leads you. Right now you are having a tough time deciding who to choose and thats okay. You are only still in college. I don’t expect you to know who you want to spend your life with, or who you want to date. I just want both of my children to be happy. If that means being alone for the rest of your life, or being with someone. Or in Beer’s case, marrying Forth or finding someone else.” My mom explained as I laid there and listened.

There may not always be an easy answer to things and thats okay. I wish I could give to the answer of who to choose, but I can’t. It wall really depends on what you want. Who you want. Who wants you back.” She said smiling down at me. I sat up and smiled wide at her.

“Thank you, mom.” I said hugging her. She laughed and hugged me back.

“I didn’t help you dear.” She said. I pulled back and nodded.

“You did though.” I said before telling her goodnight and going upstairs to my room.

Even though she thinks she didn’t really, she did help me. She told me it’s about who I want and how wants me. I have to figure that out.

I don’t want Bank. I don’t know if I want Forth. I don’t know if Forth wants me, or is even gay. That’s where I need to start.

The next day I had mom invite Forth and his parents over for lunch. After breakfast I went to a barber shop down the street and got my bangs trimmed lightly. When I got home Forth and his parents were already there.

“Beam, I’m so glad you’re home. I invited them over earlier because I figured it would nice to spend more time with them for Forth and Beer’s sake. The cake we ordered for dinner Thursday is at the bakery. Forth doesn’t know where it is. Can you show him?” My mom asked. I looked to Forth and then back to mom before nodding.

“Sure. Come on.” I said gesturing for him to follow me to the car.

Once we were in the car neither one of us really said anything for a little before Forth broke the silence.

“Your hair looks nice.” He said looking over at me. I smiled and nodded.

“Thanks. I just trimmed my bangs.” I said. He shrugged.

“Still looks nice.” He said. I smiled and nodded again. “Do you want to go to the movies Wednesday?” He asked. I looked over at him for a few seconds before turning my eyes back to the road.

    “What?”

“I mean, not with just me. With my friends to.” He added. So he didn’t just ask me on a date?

“Oh. um, sure. Sounds like fun.” I said accepting. I seen him smile and nod out of the corner of my eyes.

The rest of the drive there and the drive back was silent. When we got home we found everyone outside laughing and have a good time.

“Oh glad you guys are back. We have news.” Forths mom said standing up and smiling. “We’ve been invited to dinner Thursday. I hope you aren’t to upset, Beam. I know things like this are usually family affairs.” His mom announced.

What? Forth and Bank in the same room. Next to me? This couldn’t get any worse. I put on a fake smile and shook my head.

“No. Are you kidding. The more the merrier.” I said smiling wide.

The rest of the time was us enjoying lunch and talking. Forth didn’t really speak up much, which was kind of disappointing. So much for trying to see if he likes me.
