Chapter Seven

While wandering around Yorknew City, Koenma appeared, meaning there is another mission.

"Don't you dare tell me there will there is another mission," I stated, glaring at Koenma

"Too bad. It's another mission," Koenma replied, and I groaned. "You guys will be defeating an S Class Demon.  He was once working with us but then he left and became wanted for stealing the souls of other people, young or old. Botan will be the one who will take you there," Koenma explained.

Before I can ask again, Botan teleported us quickly. We were surrounded by trees. A few kilometers, a castle can be seen.

"She can just teleport us in front of the castle instead of teleporting us here in the forest. Geez," I complained."Koenma didn't even told us his name!" I exclaimed

They all ignored about my complaints as we walked towards that castle. A few minutes of silence, Yusuke spoke

"Nee Kayano-san, I was just curious. Why are you separated to Kurama?"

"Well, mother  left and Kurama-niisan was forced to go with her. I was left with my father who teaches me to become an assassin. He was really abusive if I refuse to do his orders. Then one day, he left. Thank goodness he left, I couldn't stand the pain he gives me." I replied

"It's a good thing he left," Yusuke stated as I replied with a hum. 

I was a bit curious of my mother's death so I went over to Kurama and asked him about him.

"I was away that time, but when I came back she was murdered. I asked the other neighbors and they saw a bunch of people came in to our house. They said that they have Spider Tattoos. I researched it and eventually saw this group called the Phantom Troupe," Kurama replied.

"Then that means you and Kurapika were on the same page?" Killua asked

"Nope, his was far more worse than mine. Only mom was killed, but Kurapika's was much more than that," I replied

"Who was this Kurapika person? Is he also your friend?" Kurama asked.

"Kurapika, his entire clan was slaughtered by the Phantom Troupe," I replied

"Yep,much worse than ours," Kurama agreed. "Anyways, Kayano, did you keep the ring I gave to you?" He asked. I replied with a nod. "Did it helped prevent your power?" He asked again. Then again, I replied with a nod.

"What was the purpose of that ring? I thought it was just an accessory," Gon stated and I shaked my head.

"Why would I tell you my power when I just met you back then?" I sighed and looked at my brother. "Can you please be the one to tell them, I'm lazy to explain," I asked and he agreed.

"A few years ago, Kayano barely controls her power. Her power is Mana Manipulation (kind of like Gwen in Ben 10:Alien Force and Aladdin in Magi:The Labyrinth of Magic) As a result, she keeps destroying things. As I left for another mission, I encountered that ring that seals any sort of power. For safety, I grabbed the ring and explained everything back home. She agreed to put it on and after that, everything became normal," Kurama explained

"*coughs* And then there's mom who left me with my father," I faked cough, making my brother to look at me. He gave me a 'bruh what?' look and I just ignored it. Of course he knows I'm still angry at our mother.

"I've never heard mentioning your father, who is he anyways?" Killua asked

"Why do you want to know? It's kinda personal. I'd rather not talk about it," I replied

"We're here so shut up," Hiei stated. 

'Rude' I thought and we proceeded across the room

Then ahead of us was the demon Koenma was talking about.
