(requested by the loooooveeeeely person who would like to remain anonymous, thank you so much!!)

Type: kind of a one-shot/songfic (if that makes any sense)

Pairing: Bilbo Baggins x Female (Earthling!) Reader

A/N: The gif above is like what I think Bilbo's first reaction to seeing you (the reader in this story) for the first time, sorta awestruck in wonder and also surprised at the same time

A/N Part 2: This was requested as a reader x Bilbo so you (as the reader) will not have a pre-set name

Enjoy!

Y/F/N Y/M/N Y/L/N was in quite the predicament.

Only minutes ago, she'd simply been playing Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day on her electric guitar, holed up in her basement music room, her amp plugged in and the volume up at the max. She'd closed her eyes, getting lost in the music, but suddenly had heard the unusual chirping of birds and the sound of a river rushing closer by- it was mid-December. When she'd opened her eyes, she'd fallen off her chair in shock. She had somehow been transported from her basement, along with her electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and amp, into the middle of a serene forest. She'd gotten back up, but then was promptly shoved back down onto the ground, a sword that seemed like it should have belonged in the Middle Ages rather than the twenty-first century pointed at her throat. The holder seemed to be a rather short and stocky man, dressed in traveling cloaks and furs that were strange and, once again, seemed medieval. He glared down at her as he accused Y/N of being an ally of 'Smog' and practicing dark witchcraft.

She sighed, suddenly thankful for all those years of karate classes she'd taken during middle school, and smacked the blade away from her on its flat edge with the side of her hand. She stood up, brushing off the dirt and leaves now scattered on her back, and replied sharply to the short man, " 'Dark witchcraft?' What age are you living in, hermit? And I'll have you know I'm not allied with an evil form of city smoke, thank you very much." Y/N crossed her arms, now noticing there were twelve more of the short men clustered around her; also an even shorter one- and an average sized old man. The short one seemed in awe of her presence, while the tall one, who was dressed in some sort of old-timey wizard costume, just smiled mysteriously at her. How strange. "Well, where are ye from, then? A blaze o' light and you're just 'ere, that's witchcraft if I've ever seen it!" She sighed and held up her electric guitar as menacingly as possible. "I've just as much knowledge as to why I'm here as you do," she began, then paused, realizing she was speaking in a strange fashion unlike her usual speech- but continued on anyway, "Now, if we can talk this out peacefully, without any dangerous weapons pointed at my throat, I'd quite appreciate it."

And so that was how Y/N met the Company of Thorin Oakenshield and discovered she'd been teleported by some strange force to another world, that of which seems to have magic and strange races of beings and adventure. Y/N was immediately captivated by the unfamiliar and wondrous place and joined the Company without a second thought- after all, she had her guitars, and that's all she loved from her former home. Her life in that world was boring, monotonous, and all she had there was music. With no family to worry about, of course she didn't want to go back! She learned how to swordfight from the brothers Fili and Kili, legends and history of this world, Middle Earth, from the oldest dwarf (for that's who most of the Company was comprised of) Balin, and all about the distant, lovely Shire from the Hobbit who's home it was, Bilbo Baggins.
