The Challinders were an elitist family with strong ties to the Targaryens. They were rich and extremely powerful. Commoners of the Seven Kingdoms and beyond despised them for their luxuries. They had everything that one could imagine and had the advantage of not having to rule the kingdoms- yet still be a major influence on those that did rule the kingdoms.

Essentially, they had all the benefits and did none of the work.

The three children of the Challinder family, Sofina, Stefan and Reyanna, were to become the next heirs of the estate. They would inherit all the power and money the family possessed once their father passed and use it for their own benefit. Each child desired to achieve different things with the money and power they would gain.

Stefan, the eldest and the twin of Sofina, possessed a leader figure. Yet, his twisted mind was set on becoming a tyrant and controlling people. He was manipulative and untrustworthy- the only people he was loyal to was Sofina and Reyanna.

Sofina was the epitome of a politician. Her tongue was slick and she could corrupt people's minds with the use of her wits and charisma. She was quite sarcastic and crude, but she was quite dependable when you needed insight on someone or something. She could convince people to become her eyes and ears wherever she went because of her charisma. She was a woman that didn't have to spread her legs to use people. This made her quite a powerful woman.

Reyanna was the stubborn one. She was the youngest and quite often got what she wanted growing up. And what she wanted contrasted greatly of what other girls wanted. She wanted to be a soldier, a warrior, like the men in the fictional books her brother would read to her before she'd go to sleep. She always wanted to engage in combat, but because she was a high class lady, it was looked down upon by her brother and sister. She once even thought of running away to join the night's watch soldiers, but she knew they'd never accept her because she was a girl, and seen as a wildling at that. Her brother knew her desires to fight would eventually drive her insane, so he allowed her to take learn swordsmanship and combat skills from a young age. She never became very good at it until she reached her adolescent years.

All three of the children had dreams that were extremely reachable. However, their dreams were crushed when the House of Targaryen was eliminated from the throne. The King, as many commoners called him "the Mad King," was slaughtered alongside the Challinders' father. The Targaryen children either fled or were murdered as well. But, the Challinder children managed to flee to safety with all of their riches in hand.

They fled somewhere north of the wall, under King Mance, where no one but wildlings would see them. Also, where all of their riches were worthless. The town they were staying in was a village in which the economy was based on trading of raw goods. They couldn't use all of their gold on anything there because it meant nothing to the villagers.

The hidden town was set in a crater amongst the white desert one would call the tundra. It was surrounded by unheard of white walkers and the people of the village lived amongst real giants. The people of the village fought against the white walkers, only Reyanna would join the fights from time to time. She didn't want to be noticed too much within the village.

For years the three kept their heads down and stayed hidden in the village, that was, until Jon Snow was brought into town by the Lord of Bones and Ygritte. The Challinders knew who Jon was. He was Lord Ned Stark's bastard son, the boy no one acknowledged. But, the Challinders had fled before they could get to know the new generation of ruling families- the Lannisters, Baratheons, and Starks. So, they assumed Jon wouldn't know who they were.

That was until... Jon spotted them.
