Hindi ako mapakali buong byahe patungo ng Canada. I keep on reading what's in my flashcard. I made sure I wrote everything that I'm going to say here.
Benjamin who's currently doing something on his laptop turns to me. He probably finds my nervousness disturbing. He closed his laptop at tsaka iniharap ang sarili sa akin.
"Relax. You'll do a great job." He said to ease all the nervousness that I've been feeling inside.
I still have a week to practice for this. Pero kung ngayon palang kinakabahan na ako, ano pa kaya sa mismong conference?
Tumango ako at dumungaw muli sa may bintana. I keep on mumbling some of the things that I'm going to say. I heard Benjamin chuckled beside me.
"You still have a week to prepare. Don't get so tensed."
"I'm sorry. I just can't help it."
Tumawa siyang muli at tsaka tiningnan nalang rin ang mga bagay na nakasulat sa flashcard ko. I tried getting it away from him but he just won't let me. Patuloy niyang binabasa ang lahat ng nakalagay doon.
"You won't need these." He said and gently pulled the remaining flashcards away from my table. "But you'll need your heart."
Kumunot ang noo ko. nagugulohan ko siyang tiningnan. Tumawa naman siyang muli at tsaka ako nilingon. He arranged his table so he can fully turn to me
"Speak... about what's in your heart. Not on these things. You'll only get distracted or confused. It's good to see the passion in the speaker's eyes while they talk about something they love. And I want to see that from you."
A small smile curved on his lips after he said that. Tinitigan niya ako ng magi habang kinunotan ko naman siya ng noo.
"Are you pressuring me?" hindi ko naiwasang itanong.
Benjamin laughed again. "No. But I want you to do better in your talk."
"You're pressuring me!" reklamo ko. He smirked at me.
"Come on. Practice again and I'll listen. Have you read everything that I put in your presentation?"
I nod my head. Namangha nga ako sa lahat ng inilagay niya sa presentation ko, e. Hindi ko akalain na manggagaling ang lahat ng iyon sakanya. Hindi ko na rin alam kung anong oras siya natulog ng mga oras na iyon. I woke up and he's still asleep.
"Okay, then. Come on, I'll listen to you."
"No!" agap ko. He looks at me questioningly.
"Why not?"
"I'll only get nervous if you're listening."
He smirked again at me because of my reason. "No, you won't."
