I left the show early that night

I knew my team weren’t happy about that decision, but they could hardly do anything about it. I had already done what I needed to do in the contract. They couldn’t force me to stay any longer than that.

I was pretty sure I would be sick if I stayed any longer than that.

“Where do you want to go Miss Swift? Are we going back to the hotel?”, the driver’s question suddenly broke the silence in the car

No, I didn’t want to go there again

Everything about that hotel room was cold as stone.

“Get me to the airport”, I said within minutes of thinking. Airport. Yes. I would be home in a few hours. Home. Wasn’t it all I needed?

“No Taylor! You’re already tired. We should get back to the hotel and have a sleep. If you still wanna fly to Nashville, we’ll take the early flight tomorrow.”, cried Andrea, tho she’d already known that once her daughter’s mind was made, no one in the world could change it.

“Just get me to the airport”, I repeated. I didn’t want to argue with anyone else right then.

Andrea shook her head with disagreement. But she didn’t say more. She watched her daughter, putting on her usual earphones, falling as sleep on their way to the airport. “She’s doing what she loves, and she’s happy about it”, Andrea thought so. But wasn’t it such a long time ago since she last saw her daughter smile?

After a long flight, Taylor woke up and realized the plane had already landed.

“We’re home finally”, Taylor whispered to herself. She rushed her way to get to her house in Nashville. Dad and Austin were already here. They sat down and watched some old family videos together and laughed, laughs of excitement and laughs of embarrassment. Swift had had all the good times in her life. But no good times could compare to this. She only found her old self again when she was with her family. After all, she was still this twelve-year-old kid who was afraid of spiders, and she had always been a victim of growing up. If she could stay this way forever, she would... But she could only spare a few days in Nashville. All the plans had been set up. She had to leave by weekend.

It was such a pleasure to spend time with her family that Taylor totally forgot about her pal Karlie, and the alrealy-turned-off cellphone obviously failed its mission to remind her about that. After having lunch and a little chitchat about how perfectly had purbety hit Austin, Taylor came back to her room, cuddled with Olivia (under the angry stare of Meredith), and suddenly remembered that she had a phone in her life. Taylor hurriedly got the phone out of her handbag and realized it had already run our of battery.

“Gosh. Karlie....”, she reached for the charger and patiently waited while the phone was starting up. Taylor scrolled down the business messages and found one (only one) message from Karlie. The message had been sent 10 hours ago:

“Hi baby, I’m done with the runway show. Haven’t heard anything from you for the whole day. Is everything okay? Don’t miss me too much k <3 Love, Kar”

Blaming herself for being so nonchalant, Taylor immediately called Karlie. But no one answered.

“Great, now Karlie’s mad at me”, Swift muttered to herself while she resisted the temptation to throw the phone across the room. After writing and editing for a while, Taylor decided to send her an apology:

“I’m so sorry for not texting you back Karlie!!! I had such a horrible night without you at the award show so I just took a flight straight to Nashville to find some inner peace of mine. I’m with my family right now. My phone ran out of battery so I didn’t see your message. I’ll try to meet you asap!!! Ilysm don’t forget about it Kar! <3”
