Marie 1999:
I packed my last set of clothes in my suitcase. Today was my last day here as I'm leaving to go University, I'm also leaving someone special behind.....my best friend......Elgin. I cannot believe we've been best friends since Kindergarten and now seeing us both all grown up, going to different places......Wow time really does go by fast.
I looked at my now empty room that was just filled with my bed, wardrobe, mirror.....all the furniture in my room left naked. I was really going to miss this room, I've cried in it, laughed in it, invited friends.......I sometimes wonder what my parents would do with the room but I really hope it'll be the same as how I left it but knowing how creative my parents be, it'll probably look like something else.
I picked up my mobile phone, waiting to get a call from Elgin but look like he ain't bother to call me.....or even come and visit me before I left. He's leaves tomorrow so it's not like he doesn't have the time to see me on my last day. I felt my body tense, almost as if I wanted to ball my eyes out.
'Marie, are you ready to go' my little sister opened the door as I quickly composed myself
Usually I would've been pissed of by Mary-Anne opening the door whiteout knocking but I just wasn't in the mood.
'Er....yeah' I said as she closed the door but opened it back up again
'Are you okay?' She asked
'Yes' I said
'No you're not' she automatically thought as she cane to sit on the bed beside me
'Now please tell me how my 16 year old sister would know what's wrong with me?' I asked sarcastically
'I've known you basically my whole life' she said 'it's either your gonna mess us both or Elgin ain't talk to you.....or just both'
'Why do you act like Elgin is my boyfriend, he's just my best friend' I said
'Hmm.....' she said
'What's that supposed to mean?' I asked
'Nothing' she simply said 'I'm really gonna miss you though' she said
'Really' I looked at her shocked
'Yeah it's gonna be weird not having an older sister around bossing me the fuck around, getting advice on her from boys which don't always solve my problems'
'What do you mean.....I'm good when it comes to boys' I boasted
'So how comes you still friend-zoning Elgin?' She asked
