3rd POV
"Do not hurt my best friend" was all that Felix said. Fear was evident in Chloe's eyes. She shivered at the piercing gaze given to her, seemingly as though it was with the intent to kill. The room was dead silent. Everyone was still trying to comprehend what they had just witnessed. Some had even gone as far as to have forgotten how to breathe. One by one the students started to remove themselves from their state of shock. The emotions were turned from confusion..., to anger.
Nino went to Marinette's side and brought her out into the hall while asking if she was ok. They were accompanied by Alya since she couldn't have her bestie in such a state and not do anything about it. Before she left, she gave Chloe a death glare.
Felix has let go of her wrist but Chloe didn't dare move. The hatred and furious emotions that were aimed towards her were too much for her to handle. It was as if she was paralyzed. If looks could kill, she would have died by every person in the room, ten times over. That is actually and understatement. She would have been killed by every person that Marinette had helped ever.
A series of 'how could you try that?' And 'what was that for' , 'she did nothing to you' and many more played out before anyone who dared see what was happening in the classroom. Chloe saw Adrien and ran up to him in an attempt to play the victim. She ran up to him and started 'crying' into his shirt.
"Oh Adrikins, you have to help me! They are all ganging up on me when I did nothing wrong. Boo-hoo!" She continued her fake sobs while Adrien was contemplating on his next move. Sure Chloe was his first friend, was there for him during tough times, had shown some acts of kindness but she still hurt one of his best friends. One that he had tried hard to make things right with. The friend who he trusted more than he he ever did with Chloe. And... the friend whom he had unbeknownst developed non coherent feelings for that could clearly be shown as the early development of love. Not that of a family member or close friend, but that of a lover. The innocent (or as yuri!!!on ice calls it; agape,) love that you have which is your first love. It was Adrien's first real love and not what was admiration mistaken as love.
He loved the original Marinette and not the superhero version. In his eyes she is a hero anyway. That being said, he would still love her after finding out she was ladybug but it wouldn't change anything. Sadly all of this is still going unnoticed by the young superhero. He still has a long way until he finds out his true feelings.
Adrien took Chloe's hands and put them down so they lay at her sides. He then grabbed her shoulders and gently pushed her off of his chest. He took a few deep breaths in an attempt to gain some courage. He looked straight into Chloe's eyes and spoke, "Chloe, you were my first friend. I will always be grateful for the kindness that you have shown me. That being said, I can't just let go of the fact that you were going to slap Mari if it weren't for Fè stopping you. Ever since going to school i have seen the way you have been treating people and tried to put it past me but after this. I don't think I can. I am sorry Chloe, but we can't be friends anymore."
Chloe felt as though her heart had shattered. Although she had been scared from the glares she had gotten, she felt way worse now. Adrien and her had been friends for as long as she could remember and her only crush since the same time period. Now that was all gone. Her hopes of being with him. Gone. Her confidence. Gone. Her heart. It was there. But just barely. Just enough for her to still feel the unfair amount of pain that she just obtained.
Chloe ran out of the room crying. No one went after her. All that followed was the stares for the students watching her go by.
