•Forty Three•

Ross and I sat down at the kitchen table while he strummed his guitar, trying to get a perfect melody for the verse he was working on. I was helping him right down lyrics, but I gave up after I couldn't think of anything that would fit into his song. I am currently eating cheese and crackers as I watched ross make his song.

I get up from my seat, without disturbing ross and walk over to the dog bed, which the dog was laying in. I pick up the dog and she instantly is wide awake. She wags her tail as I hold her in my arms, and I open the door to the backyard to take her out. I didn't want any accidents in the house because my mom would kill me.

I set the dog down in the grass to let her do her business. There was no way that she could run away, because there is a built in fence all around the yard.

The dog ran around in the yard for a while until she finally went to the bathroom. Once she was done, I walked over to her to pick her up but she runs away. She eventually lays down in the grass, and I go to pick her up but once she saw me close, she ran away again. I roll my eyes as I run after her again but she just continues running. I let out a frustrated sigh and put my head in my  hands. I can definitely tell this is going to be a playful, hyper dog.

I hear the dog start to bark, and I lift my head up to see her at the end of the fence barking at another dog, that was walking by. Now was my chance to pick her up so I quietly walk up behind her, and snatch her in my arms. The old lady who was walking her dog, smiled and waved at me, and I waved back.

I turn back around, and walk to the door with the dog looking at me as she wagged her tail. "Your gonna give me a hard time aren't ya?" The dogs ears raise up and I giggle.

"You're lucky your cute." As soon as I walk back into the house, I hear ross scream "WOO". I quickly slide off my shoes, and gently set the dog down on the floor. I run over to ross and he is standing up with the guitar in his hand.

"What?" I asked walking up to him. He sets his guitar down, leaning it on the table.

"I finally finished the verse, and the notes on the guitar!" He shouts in excitement. I run up to him and give him a quick hug before pulling away to look at him.

"Ross! That's great! Let me hear it!" I pick up the paper he wrote lyrics on but before I get a chance to read it, he takes it off me. I tilt my head to the side and furrow my eyebrows in confusion on why he took the paper off me.

"I don't want you to see anything I did until it's finished, so I can show you the whole thing." Ross smirks putting the paper back on the table, turned to the other side so I couldn't see anything he wrote.

"But I already saw some of it." I say crossing my arms in front of my chest.

Ross laughs and collects all his papers up into a pile. "I know, but now you have to wait to hear the rest."

He walks right up to me with the papers in his hands and kisses my forehead. "Now I have to go to the bathroom, and I'm taking these with me so you don't peak."

I roll my eyes as Ross walks upstairs. He's so funny and I love that quality in a guy. I'm definitely glad I chose to talk to him on that dating app. So far he seems like such a great guy and I hope it stays that way, unlike the relationship I had with Andrew. I can't wait to get a job with him, and be able to see him all the time, instead of seeing him only once in a while when he doesn't have to work.

Ross brings me out of my thoughts when he walks downstairs, and wraps his arm around my neck from behind. "You okay?"

"Yea I just zoned out" I giggle and he removes his arms from my neck. He puts his hand on my waist, and turns me around so we were facing each other. He moves the hair that was in my face, behind my ear and gives me a sweet smile while he stared into my eyes.
