A Cry From Hades

Why have you come for me?
Where are we going?

Whistling through the silky night a lone soul yearns as the clouds descend.
None can imagine, none can breathe
Wasting away like dew drops, then falling like leaves.
A faint voice echoes mercy
Then the paddling is heard.
Steering through the cosmos of wicked souls and bleached-out hearts arrives the vessel of crooked spirits.

A crooked smile and a crooked boat for the crooked souls.

Black clouds as big as the afternoon forms an oasis in the dessert of dried blood and ashes.

The air flutes the tune of decomposed mortals
Blended with a deceitful descant piercing any light.

Is this how it is for the wicked?
Are these their hearts pumped dry of the wine?
Is that the flood of darkness which consumes their thoughts?
Is this the boat which steers their conscience?

A polished throne hovers atop this cosmos
beckoning the dread, tormenting the dead.
Is this cloud the chaos they stir?
Those who have strayed from you?

Take me back to the path of righteousness
Just beyond these shores.
Bring me back to your presence oh Lord
Let me hide in your wounds.

Gone like a breath thinning in the air, this journey was over.
I now know why you have come for me and where I'm about to go.
