As if it were a lie

When the rains fall upon your head,
Know that it is God.
Even the coursing wind and the starry night sky knows that it is God.
The outstretched arms of the sea, even the full blown face of the moon worship our God.
But where is our devotion?
Tongue-tied in heavy catechisms
Day by day, week by week
recite as we breathe,
Little effort, no emotion
as if it were a lie...

Ravens bowing in deceit to an eternal nest, hoping to feel that eternal rest.
But there is no rest, only life.
A living stream of righteousness to null the pain of history.
Wounds of regret and scars of the passion for an eternity of eternity.
God had said it again, "let there be light"
but, by then, the electric pulses of the mind sparked higher than Babel's tower,
And they no longer spoke God's language
And we no longer understand his commandments.
as if it were a lie...

A chant, a tune, a spoken word-
another lie to hush the silence.
Widened seats for narrow minds
Chained to the rhythm, with love-intention.
One faith, and a Church
hungry and thirsty for righteousness,
too patient to be filled.
