the sun had set and excitement was rising. the grand ball was approaching. this ball only came once for every generation of royals. it marked the beginning of the selection, and no other ball could quite compare to the grandeur and mystery of it. the selected had been tucked away in their rooms all day, not allowed out yet. maids and butlers tended to them, making sure that they would look picture perfect for the night. besides the selected, there would be the wealthy elite and the socially connected from all over attending. it was a night that almost everyone looked forward to.

the night was in full swing. the brilliant, larger than life chandeliers hung from the ceiling, shedding light on the night of wonder. underneath the twinkling lights, hundreds of people were occupying the grand ballroom. the dance floor was packed with waltzing couples laughing, and grinning the night away. tables full of food and drinks lined the walls of the ballroom, inviting people to partake in a marvelous feast if they'd like. one wall had large windows that went nearly from the floor to the ceiling, displaying the gorgeous sight of the gardens. there was a set of double doors that led to a spacious balcony that over looked that very sight. a string band tucked away in the corner played some of the most beautiful music around, creating the heart beat of the evening. it was a night to be remembered.

DETAILS:

— the ball is finally here!
— this event takes place the day after the interviews, so everyone has had a chance to get settled in and ready
— the room chapters are still closed (besides bedrooms), but they'll be opened after the third chapter.
— you may have two chains with my oc's. you can have endless chains with other selected, i don't really care. having allies is always a good idea, so go nuts!
— y'all still don't know which princess is which, even if the collages tell you who's wearing what. the selected still don't know who's who unless they're told ;)
— plsss don't act as if your selected can magically tell them apart
— my characters are: princess lacey, princess cordelia, my two selected (tucker and lena), my staff (i have a maid and a guard)
— so just tag me to start a chain! i'm not writing starters this time (though this time you get to choose which character you'd like to speak with!)
— i'm just saying, a huge pet peeve of mine is when like ten selected are like "and the selected accidentally bumped into someone— oh! it was the princess"... like... please no... if my princesses are constantly bumped into tonight, cordelia will throw hands... lets just think of original starters pls
— another tip... lacey really likes dancing at these things and cordelia really likes drinking ;) idk why i just told y'all that...
— feel free to create a collage for your selected's outfit, but it's completely optional! i just do them because they're fun for me.
— also before anyone accuses me of copying, any similarities between my selection and others are purely coincidental, this chapter has been planned for like three weeks
