I am supposed to be doing my homework.
I am not supposed to be crying.
I am not supposed to have lost everything at fifteen.
You aren't supposed to be dying
I am supposed to be doing my homework.
Instead I'm grasping the box cradling your ashes like it's all I have keeping me alive.
I am supposed to be doing my homework.
You're supposed to be at work.
I'm supposed to have friends
I'm supposed to be a kid
I'm supposed to be doing my homework
I'm supposed to continue living without you
I'm supposed to keep breathing without you
Supposed to let go of your small hand like clockwork
Supposed to do my homework
I guess things don't go the way they're supposed to.
