If I'm Not Human, That Doesn't Mean I'm a Monster

Chapter 1

                I paced back and forth in the cell. Why didn’t we fight back? How did he know where we were? Just before we were captured and brought here we were at… where were we at?

                “Mitch, pacing back and forth isn’t going to get us out of this place.” Jerome said. “Well, how do you think we can leave?” I asked. The room was silent leaving only the sounds of our breath. I sighed in defeat and sat in the corner which was beside Jerome. “Well, at least we are all here.” Adam said gesturing to everyone. Ian, Quentin, Jason, Ty, Adam, and Jerome were all staring at me.

                “Do you know what to do?” Ian asked. I thought for a moment. “Nope.” We all said in unison. Suddenly, a guard came in along with some others behind him. Each one grabbed someone as we struggled for freedom.

                They dragged us through different hallways. Before I was thrown in one, I saw all of them get thrown in a different cell than before.

                I sat up and rubbed my side. They threw me in pretty hard. I sat in front of the wall and closed my eyes hoping this would be over.

                I watched them all get grabbed by the guards and pushed out. After they were all escorted, someone walked in. He had pure, white, glowing eyes, a light blue shirt, and dark blue pants. I growled at him, “What do you want?” He smiled, “Oh, I just wanted you to know a few things. One is that all of you together are too strong.”

                I looked at him in confusion. “Why are you telling me this?” He smirked and walked up to me, “Oh Sky don’t you see? I am telling you this because you aren’t going to be together for long. Plus, if all of you are sad and such, you’ll all be weak.”

                He went back to the entrance of the door and signaled the guard to follow him and release me. “And I wanted you to know that I need two people from your group as test subjects.” Before I could reply, they shut the door and left.
