When I woke up I looked at myself in the mirror. I smiled when I saw my normal skin, only a bit paler. That dream just seemed so real. I turn around until I think of something to test if it really was a dream. I hop into the shadows and imagine I am in Jason’s room.

When I opened my eyes I was in his closet. It wasn’t a dream? I was about to get out when I heard singing, “woven in my soul, I need to let you go. Your eyes they shine so bright,” He opened the door to the closet and I waved at him. He let out a shriek. “Hi.”

“What are you doing in my closet?” He asked as I left his closet, “It’s not a dream because I teleported here with my shadow travel.” His smile soon disappears. “So I’m a m-monster?” I nodded my head, “No, but I don’t have the right to say we are human though.”

He sighed and I sadly nodded, “So, how are we going to train this?” I thought for a moment, “I don’t know but I’m gonna eat some food!” He laughed and ran after me as we ran to the kitchen. We both bumped into Adam who was eating cereal, while standing. “Hey, watch out!” he said as he quickly saved his food.

This was a normal morning, an everyday thing. If we tell them it wasn’t a dream though, it will all change. “Listen guys,” Jason started. I grabbed him by the mouth, “Excuse us.” I pushed him in my room. “What the heck?” he whisper-yelled. “Don’t tell them, it will ruin their happiness.” He sighed, “Fine, but we have to solve this on our own then.” I nodded and we both went to the kitchen.

“And I was like, ‘You suck’.” Sky said continuing one of his stories. I stared at Jerome who was staring straight at me. “Do you want to build a snowman?” I said even though it was raining. “No.” They said in unison.

“I’m bored!” Ty said falling on the floor. We all laughed as he pulled Adam down with him. “No!”

We goofed off for the rest of the day until I headed off to my room. I started to have this gigantic headache. I buried my face in my pillow but got some weird message in my head, “Meet me in the alleyway at the city. Bring Jason.”

I soon woke up with Jerome shaking me. “Mitch!” he shouted. “Ugh, what?” I asked him sleepily. “You almost suffocated yourself.” He said. “Oh.” I said my mind immediately going to the message I got. “I have to go.” I said grabbing my jacket. “Cool, can I come with?” He asked. I nodded, “Only me and Jason.”

He frowned, “Are you two a thing?” I quickly nodded my head, “No, he’s just a friend we just have similar problems.” He asked one more question, “Is he your new best friend?” I stopped and put my hand on his shoulder, “You will always be my best friend.”

He smiled and nodded. I put on my shoes and headed to Jason’s room. When I was about to knock, I almost knocked on his forehead. “Hey, did you get the message also?” He asked. He was fully ready. “Yep.” I said already walking out the door.

We rushed to the city and entered all the alleyways. “There’s none left except that one.” Jason exclaimed. “Well then, let’s go.” We entered and saw an open door. I looked over at Jason and he shrugged.

We both entered and the door quickly closed. “Okay.” Jason said stretching the O. We kept on walking around the room until I heard a call from Jason. “Hey Mitchell!” He called out. I walked over to him and noticed a door. “Do we go in?” I asked. We did enter many doors and I don’t think this would be a good idea. He nodded and opened the door.

What we saw was amazing. There were two pedestals and there were different things on each pedestal. I stared at the pedestal on the left. It was a purple rose in a blue flame. Then the one on the right was a black rose in a red flame.

“Mitchell Donald Ralph Hughes and Jason Probst. I never thought you would come.” I heard. I swiftly turn around and see an old man probably in his seventies. I also see a man in his twenties. The man in his twenties looked pretty strong but not super muscular.

“Who are you?” Jason asked. The older man looked surprised, “You still don’t know do you? We are the ones who sent you the message.”  “Why do you need us?” I asked. “We are here to help you with your ‘powers’.”

I looked at Jason, not able if we should trust them. He looked at me as if saying no. “Eric, bring Jason into the training room and see what he can do so far.” The elder said.

Jason looked at me desperately as he was taken away. I turned my head toward the roses in flames that were still alive. The old man walked toward me and stared at the plants also. “Power, royalty, nobility, elegance, sophistication, artificial, luxury, mystery, magic, peace, professionalism, loyalty, reliability, honor, trust, melancholia, boredom, coldness, depth, stability, and conservatism.” The man said. I looked at him confused.

“Those represent your friend who is now half demon.” He said still staring at the flames. “Warmth, love, anger, danger, boldness, excitement, speed, strength, energy, determination, desire, passion, courage, socialism, elegance, sophistication, formality, power, strength, illegality, depression, morbidity, night, and death.”

“Those represent who I am then?” I asked. He nodded. “So what are these for?” I asked. “These represent who you are. You are the midnight rose in red flames.” He extended his hand into the flames without getting burned.

“Only certain people can affect the person, like me.” He grasped the rose and squeezed it. I soon felt a jolting pain shoot through my body. I screeched in pain and fell to the floor, holding my stomach. He let go and the pain stopped.

“Why are you telling me this?” I asked starting to stand up. “Because, Eric and I’s destiny is to help you fellows.”

I watched them through my monitor. My creations being trained and getting more powerful. My plan is failing but a new plan is starting. I stood up out of my chair and called one of my guards.

“Yes sir?” He asked. “Tell everyone to get ready to fight. Today, one of my sons will die in my hands.” He nodded and left the room. I would have enjoyed them as my servants but my purpose is to cause pain, sadness, and fear, and that is what I am going to cause.
