“Where are Eric and my trainer?” I asked. It didn’t seem right to say trainer but he didn’t tell me to call him anything. “Oh, I put them to sleep.” He started to circle around me, “For a long time.” They were gone and the guys were off searching for him. “You seem like a wonderful child, too bad you have to fall into a deep sleep too.”

I closed my eyes trying to force my mind that this was all a trick, that getting these stupid powers was a mistake, to forget that I’m not a monster, but human again. I felt him breathe on my face. He lifted up my chin, “Oh, you would’ve been a great child.”

I opened my eyes and pushed him back. “Why did you do this to me?” I asked furiously. “Don’t you enjoy the fear of others?” he asked. “Only a monster would enjoy that!” I yelled. He smiled, “Well, you aren’t human, so what are you?”

I pounced on him and punched him multiple times. “I want to be normal!” I say. He smiled, “You never will.” He threw a punch at me with force and magic which made my flame flicker even more. I noticed I was in the shadows and was about to teleport when I heard his voice, “I won’t hurt your symbol because that would be too easy, and I want to see you suffer. You or your friends.”

We kept on running but I was in the back of the group. I kept on looking back to see if Mitch was with us. He never was. I looked forward and kept on running until I saw something move and groan in the shadow. I stopped running and told the guys to wait for me and watch my back.

I ran over and saw wounded Mitch. “Mitch!” I said and hugged him. He groaned in pain and I quickly pulled away, “Sorry.” He took his hands and put it to his chest and closed his eyes. Soon his wounds were gone but he looked extremely pale and weak.

I helped him up and we were about to go to the rest of the guys until he said, “Jason.” My smile fainting, “Yeah?” “He’s in the warehouse and searching for us, so he can…” He thought for a moment to decide if he should tell me something or not. “So he can watch us suffer.” He finished. I gave him a small smile, “I’m sure we’ll make sure we won’t let that happen to you.”

“One more thing.” He said. He held his hands to his heart and let out a little screech. A glowing white orb came out. He looked even paler. “I n-need you to hold on to this, you’ll know when to use it.” He gave me the orb and I nodded. I supported him so he could walk and we came to the guys, “Look whose back!” I exclaimed.
