June 5th, 1944,
Army's from some countries who volunteered to help boarded ships to set sail. With no turning back I got on to the massive destroyer to help save France. We started to move towards at some pace but we were only going to stop halfway. We all sat down in our sleeping quarters and ate our most likely last meal alive. Tomorrow is the day where thousands of men storm the beach and fight for the freedom of France. I got placed in a platoon with 5 other men the were nice people I just hope they survive because I know for a fact this is going to be a hard battle to fight.

Right before bed sergeant, Thompson walked in telling the platoon to go to the upper deck for the general's speech before we set off for war he also told us good luck but I don't think we will have any luck.
