Night time fell on the crowded city of Tokyo.

I stood near a taxi stop while holding my white suitcase close to my chest.

My once again H/C hair floated a little with the breeze as my E/C eyes scanned the cars that passed by.

I tidied my white jacket and fixed my white tie in the process.

Next to me stood a man with black hair and black triangular-like eyes.

He was wearing a black shirt and a white jacket with black pants.

He also carried a white suitcase.

I turned my head to face him.

"Hey, Urie," I said to him, "What does the taxi look like again?"

"Green with white and orange stripes," Urie answered plainly.

"What about the plat number?" I asked.

"Zero two zero eight," Urie said again.

"You mean like that one?" I asked while pointing towards a taxi that was slowly approaching us.

Urie turned his gaze towards the taxi that I was pointing.

Urie nodded before telling the driver to stop.

The taxi stopped right in front of us.

Urie opened the door letting me in first before joining me and closing the taxi door.

He told the driver where our destination was.

After that, the taxi zoomed towards the busy streets of Tokyo.

Urie instantly wore his headphones.

I sighed.

Urie Kuki is a Rank 2 Investigator like me. The both of us are also in the Quinx Squad, a special squad for special investigators. We were classmates in the 7th Academy Junior and part of the honors program, which allowed us to immediately become investigators after we graduated.

Urie is the squad leader of the Quinx. Even though he doesn't seem ecstatic when someone tells him that, I could tell that he's actually quite proud with his current position.

The problem is he craves for more.

The taxi went underneath a bridge and into a tunnel.

When it was deep enough in the tunnel, Urie took off his headphones.

"Here is good," he said to the driver.

The taxi stopped.

"Eh? Are you sure you want to stop here?" the driver nervously asked.

Urie pulled out his ID card and showed it to the driver.

"We're ghoul investigators," he said.

Urie leaned in close to the driver's face.

"If you don't clean the blood off properly, people can easily smell the scent," Urie said.

The driver panicked and hit the gas.

Urie and I quickly unlocked the door.

The both of us jumped outside of the taxi as it hits the wall of the tunnel.

A scaly bikaku appeared from the taxi and almost hit Urie.

He dodged it just in time.

The taxi driver walked out of the taxi slowly as he showed off his kagune and his kakugan.
