Chapter 2

The next day, Mutsuki, Haise, and I went to the Cochlea to find some clues about Torso.

I gulped on the second we set our foot inside the building.

Haise instantly noticed.

"Y/N, if you don't feel well you know you don't have to come right?" Haise said with a worried look on his face.

I waved my hands in a dismissing manner.

"I'll be okay," I answered with a smile, "Besides, as an investigator I have to get used to the Cochlea right?"

Haise sighed.

"If you say so," he said.

A few moments later, we stopped in front of one of the cell doors.

Haise unlocked it before he let Mutsuki and I enter first.

The door closed as Haise walked inside.

We approached the ghoul who was behind a transparent wall.

He was wearing a light blue outfit and his hair was white.

"Donato Porpora," Haise said as the ghoul smiled, "Also known as Priest, SS rated."

Mutsuki nervously looked towards Donato.

"So you two brought someone new today," Donato said as he eyed Mutsuki.

Donato then leaned closer.

"He looks tasty," Donato said as Mutsuki backed away a little in fear, "So this is a Quinx?"

Donato then smiled insanely.

"I want to open his insides, and fill my mouth with the spilled organs!" Donato said before laughing a little.

Mutsuki took a step back.

Haise and I then took a step forward in a protective motion.

"So what brings you here today?" Donato asked us.

"It's about a ghoul named Torso," Haise answered.

A hologram then appeared in front of us.

On the hologram, a few places were marked red.

"His feeding ground is quite large," Haise explained.

The hologram then showed us a few profiles.

"All of the victims were women," Haise explained again, "And he only takes the torso area."

"Is that so?" Donato said, "A torso maniac, huh? Moves in an area that is quite large...Does he use a car?"

Haise nodded.

"Why did he spread out his feeding ground?" Donato thought out loud, "Is it because he's afraid people might recognize him? If yes, then he's probably a ghoul that blends among the humans and hides his identity. He also knows the streets so he must be a taxi driver."

Mutsuki and Haise looked shocked.

Haise then put on a straight face.

"Thank you for your time," he said, "We should be going now."

Donato nodded.

"Of course, it's nice to help you three," Donato said.

Haise and Mutsuki headed towards the door.

I leaned closer towards the transparent wall.

"See you later, Crown," I whispered in my Phoenix tone.
