It wasn’t long ago that the world went to hell, but for those who were still alive, it had felt like forever. What started as a cure for illnesses turned, out to be the world’s worst nightmare. Zarkon, the world’s most amazing scientist, thought he had found a bacteria that break down the mutated cells.

However, the “Cure” did not work out as planned. The gene ended up mutating inside patients, causing them to have cannibalistic tendencies, leaving a trail of the “beasts” behind. Just like any classic horror movie, these things were called zombies.

Lance had locked himself in his house after his family had been eaten in front of his eyes. He would never admit it but he had started going insane. He hadn’t once left the house his family had fallen victim to the dead.

“Mama, maybe we should stay inside. The news was saying something about a deadly outbreak on the mainland. Maybe we should stay inside, to be safe.” Marco pleaded with his mother, pushing his little brother back in the house.

It had been all over the news. Flesh eating monsters on the mainland. Everyone had been warned to stay indoors, lock doors and windows and to stay out of sight. however, a lot of people had not watched or taken the warning seriously.

“Marco, stop worrying. The government and police will take care of it before anything even happens to us. Just take Lance and yourself into the basement if your so worried.” Lance’s mother said with a happy, innocent smile.

“M-Mam-”

All Lance could hear were the screams of his family as they ran for their lives, running from those rotting bodies. Marco grabbed Lance and ran inside the house, barricading the door as the two of them ran into the basement.

Lance hadn’t been out of the house sinse. He was running low on food, and his neighbors who had survived at the beginning had slowly begin to disappear. But he was running low on food, so it came closer to the day that he needed to go outside.

He slid his boots on, wrapping duct tape around his arms, and finally making his way out of the house for the first time in six months.

He had heard of a small grocery-like store that the small island had helped to contribute to in case of any natural disasters that may have happened in the future so that they could all be prepared. Unfortunately, this event was not natural, and there was no way anyone could have been prepared.

Lance made his way from house to house, avoiding the small mobs of the flesh eaters that roamed the streets.

Keith had been wandering for days, starving. He looked and smelled like one of the dead. It had been 19 days since his base had been attacked by what he called mobbers. Mobbers were people who went around from every base, home, trailer, camp, and raided every one, killing everyone in their path. But the reason they had been infamously named “mobbers” was because of each groups leader.

No one knew how many groups there were, but posters had been put up wherever they had been spotted. These guys wore half red, half black masks with pitchforks on the back of their jackets. Leaders would carry around pitchforks. Hence the name, Mobbers.
