I drive in silence, I didn't want to give anything away. I had gotten Kylian to reconsider Lili staying at his house and I told him that I would sleep on the floor as long as she could stay.

He said to bring her over for dinner and that they would discuss it.

I drive a little faster than usual and we get to his house in record breaking time.

Lili gets out of the car and I grab her bags.

" Why are you getting those, can't you just leave them in the car?"

Kylian walks oustide and announces " Bienvenue, Liliana, to your home for the next few days."

" Are you serious?" She asks.

Kylian and I both shake our heads and say " Oui."

" You can thank Benjamin over here," Kylian says.

Lili looks over at me and I blush. " You coming inside?" I ask.

She steps in front of me and I follow behind her.

I take her bags into the room I was staying in. I hear light footsteps coming up from behind me and I see Lili standing in the doorway.

" Come here," I tell her. I hold my arms out and wait for her to walk over to me before I hold her in my arms.

We stand there like that for a few minutes - just her and I.

She lifts her head up and looks me in the eyes.

" Merci," She says quietly.

" For what?" I ask.

"For setting this up," She replies.

I shake my head, " I'd do anything for you."

She smiles before breaking our embrace and walking back downstairs.

The loss of warmth hits me like German air in the winter. I sit on the bed and contemplate the last 48 hours.
