twenty-five !

Everly tossed around on her couch, forcing her eyes shut. Zach had gone out to the store to get something, even though it was almost ten at night and she was alone in the room, trying her best to get to sleep, but she couldn't. Especially because there were certain things occupying her mind that she couldn't stop worrying about.

Eventually, she resorted to pulling her phone out from beneath her pillow and clicked it on, logging onto her anonymous Instagram account.

To her slight disappointment, she saw that her messages box was devoid of any texts from Tyler. But she needed to talk to him desperately, so she sent him a message anyway. 

@panicatthebookstore : tyler i need to talk to you about something

Almost immediately, she received a notification, alerting her that Tyler had just messaged back.

@notofflinee: heyy what's up

@panicatthebookstore: i have a (sort of?) problem

@notofflinee: ok spill

@panicatthebookstore: i think i might like a guy

@notofflinee: ooft

@notofflinee: what's his name

@panicatthebookstore: uh his name is zach

@notofflinee: ohh okay

@notofflinee: why do you like him?

@panicatthebookstore: uh it's kind of a long story

@notofflinee: I've got time

@panicatthebookstore: ok so i used to hate him. he was this player kind of dude and i just didn't like him at all. everyone disliked him too and they used to talk shit abt him. he had this bad reputation at my school

@panicatthebookstore: but then we got assigned to be partners for this science project and i got to know him better and he's actually a REALLY NICE guy

@panicatthebookstore: like he's so sweet, he gave me a frickin tulip earlier and those are my favourite flowers 😭😭

@panicatthebookstore: i told him about my escape from my parents and he gave me a place to stay and he helped me and i just like him. i like him so bad. at least i think i do, im just so confused

@panicatthebookstore: maybe, but im not sure yet. i'll wait a while i guess im just kinda scared of rejection?? and i don't wanna ruin our friendship. he's one of the only people i talk to besides you

@panicatthebookstore: im really confused about my feelings for zach, but im even more confused because...

Everly sighed and shut her phone off, leaning her head back against the couch, sighing.  She closed her eyes, feeling the bedroom light shining against her eyelids.

She didn't have the courage to tell Tyler that the other boy she liked besides Zach, was him.
