"Well I just woke up," I smiled at my vlog camera, "And I decided today would be a good day to vlog. Ellise is still asleep, I just went and checked on her. Joe is already off with Caspar, doing God knows what. Ambar just texted me and told me that she was on her way to hang with me."
I walked out of my room, still smiling at the camera.
"I'm not really sure what we're going to do, maybe we'll film a video." I shrugged. "I'm pretty sure Byron is going to stop by soon to get Ellise, I'm not too sure what they're going to do."
I heard a knock on the door.
"That's probably him or Ambar." I smiled and turned it off. I placed it on the side table and hurried to the door, pulling it open and my eyes were met with Byron's. I stayed quiet and allowed him in.
I walked straight to Ellise's room but he stopped me.
"Al, can we talk?" He asked.
"No," I shook my head, "I've got Ambar coming over soon."
"Alexis, I need to explain the ring."
I turned fast, getting angry.
"I don't care." I told him. "It's none of my business."
"It is your business Alexis, this involves you more than you think."
"I don't want to hear it." I shook my head and walked into El's room.
I walked over to her crib, reaching down to touch her face.
"Ellise," I smiled as she moved just slightly.
Her pretty eyes opened and she looked at me.
"Hey baby," I said as she sat up. She rubbed her eyes as I pulled her out. "You're going to go with daddy today."
She nodded, obviously still very tired. I turned, seeing Byron staring at me.
"Here," I said and handed her off to him.
I grabbed a diaper bag and gathered things that she'd need. I pulled it closed and handed it to him.
"Alexis, please." He begged.
"Not in front of Ellise." I shook my head. "You need to leave now."
He shook his head and obeyed, leaving the flat. I let out a breath as I shook my head. I wasn't even truly angry with him, I was more angry with myself. I knew not to get attached to the idea that he'd want me back. I knew it was never going to happen again, I'd screwed him over way too many times. He didn't deserve that and I sure as hell didn't deserve him.
--------------------------
"We've arrived!" I heard Joe's voice as he entered the flat with Caspar.
"Great," I smiled. "Caspar, your girl friend is drunk."
"Am not," Ambar said before she started to giggle.
I smiled, kicking her leg slightly.
"Where's Ellise?" Joe asked.
"She's spending the night at Byron's." I rolled my eyes, taking another swig of beer.
He nodded, pulling off his coat as the door flew open again. I saw Conor walk in, a smile spread on his face.
"Hey," He said.
"Hey," I replied.
He pulled off his coat, hanging it on a chair.
"Ambar, where are you keys?" Caspar asked his girl friend.
"It's a secret." She laughed. I smiled as Conor walked over, placing himself next to me. He put his arm around me as I leaned into him.
"Well I have to shower." Joe stated and walked away.
"Do you think we could go and talk outside?" I asked Conor. "It's really important."
He nodded and got up, pulling me with him. We went through my bedroom to the balcony. We turned and faced each other.
"What's up?" He asked.
"I'm declining your proposal." I told him. "I know you told me to wait but I'm not going to marry you when you're not my first choice. It's not fair to you Con and you deserve someone who is going to choose you every single time."
He stayed quiet and smiled. He nodded.
"I understand Lex," He told me. "You're still my best friend though."
"Always," I hugged him. We wrapped his arms around me as I smiled.
We pulled back and he looked at me.
"I have to get going, I'll see you later."
"See you later," I nodded. I turned, watching him walk back in the flat. I turned, looking over to Ellise's room. I saw Byron stood behind the glass door. I jumped as he pulled it open. He walked out, pushing it back shut. "What are you doing here?"
"Ellise didn't want to be at my flat because of Emily." He said. "And frankly, I needed a break too."
I nodded and stayed quiet, leaning against the railing.
"Alexis," Byron said.
"Please, just don't mention it." I shook my head. "I've had a pretty decent day and I just don't want to talk about it."
"I was going to ask if you regret it."
"Regret what?" I glanced at him.
"Us," He replied.
"Never," I shook my head. "What about you?"
"Never," He took a turn to shake his head.
"I regret things that I did, but never you." I told him. "Or Ellise."
"Good," He told me. "I need to go and talk to Joe."
I nodded as he walked away. I looked down at my hand thinking about the ring. It was beautiful, no doubt about. I hoped Emily would love it because I know that no matter what, I'd be happy to marry Byron. I didn't even need a ring to marry Byron, I just needed him.
I let out a sigh and pushed off the railing. It all came back to me though.
