Yawning, I stretch my limbs across the warm duvet—oh, and the fluffy blanket like wolf. As per usual he's awake before me and licks my face a few times before nuzzling me.

"Morning Viribus," I groggily stroke his soft furred head.

This is how I've woken up everyday since I've gotten here, I must say it's quite enjoyable. Today is my last day before Dr. Grant would start the tests. Angela and I had organized a time today to hang out again. As Angela and Gavin knew that Ronin would be cursed they took many videos and photos so that his mate could see what he looks like. So that's what Angela planned on showing me all day.

Lazily rolling over I study the black alarm clock sitting on the bed side table.

9:00 am already?

"Viribus I need to get up," he groans in protest and doesn't move his heavy bulky head resting on my shoulder. "If I don't get ready now I'm going to be late meeting with your mother."

He sounds another whine at the mention of his mother.

"Your mom's not going to be happy with you if you make me late." I try. He doesn't budge

"Okay fine," I decide to take a different approach. "I'm not petting you for the rest of the day- actually make that the rest of the week."

The minute I say that his head pops up staring at me with concealed disbelief. Realizing I'm serious he huffs and jumps off of the bed. I quickly scramble out of the warm blankets cringing when the cold air pierces me.

As I head for the shower Viribus stalks out the door, presumably to go hunt something.

I relish the feeling of hot water cascading down my back. Stepping into the foggy air I dress as quickly as I can trying to preserve warmth. Once I deem myself presentable I make my way downstairs.

"Morning," I greet Anastasia who seems to be making something on the stove.

"Morning dear," she says with a smile.

The kitchen is surprisingly sparse with only a couple of people lingering.

"What are you making?" I ask Ana, trying to break the uncomfortable silence.

A smiles graces her lips. "My famous five star chicken noodle soup."

I elatedly sigh when I breath in the comforting smell. "Smells delicious, no wonder it has a five star rating."

She laughs and the two of us easily fall into a laidback conversation. Of course I had to try the famous soup too which, not shockingly, tasted absolutely delicious. The aroma combined with the heaven my tastebuds were in brought back memories of my late grandmother. My mother herself was not a skilled cook, her mother however, she could whip together anything and make it taste like a million bucks.

The soft footfalls of a wolf interrupt our chatter. Ana pauses her movement for a minute before casting a smile my way.

"Alpha says that he would like to escort you to his parent's house."

Giving myself a quick once over I deem myself as presentable as one can be when meeting a runway model who isn't a model. "Great, lets go."

Comfortably falling into step, Viribus and I walk silently down the slightly worn path. Despite the circumstances, permanent residency here does not seem like it will be too bad. The scenery is picturesque with small birds singing a melodious tune, while the trees create a tent like canopy making shadows and rays of sunlight dance as though it's a duet.
