Unfortunately, posting chapters may slow even more after this one as I'm pretty busy this fall, I'll try to keep it as regular as possible though. This chapter we dig a little bit into someone's past.

Happy reading everyone!

"Bye Angela, thank you!"

"Bye, make sure you stop by again soon!"

A satisfied sigh leaves my lips as I travel down the driveway of the former Alpha and Luna. Today's lesson covered who every current Alpha and Luna as well as who their highest ranking members are—along with a brief history lesson of their predecessors. Not to mention the countless pack names and who merged with who.

Realizing how much work being a leader for a group of people really is, it deepens my respect and admiration for Gavin and Angela. Angela warned me of the mistakes she had made in the past making sure that I do not follow the same fate. Even though her and Gavin have come to terms with Ronin's predicament, Angela says that they still feel guilty. Guilt for not being more mature and responsible. Witches are notorious for having short tempers and they angered one, now suffering the consequences through someone they love.

Walking into the pack house I go to the kitchen to prepare a snack. On today's agenda is a light lunch before meeting up with Viribus for more testing.

Chopping up a carrot I drop it onto my plate with the cucumbers, cauliflower, and the bowl of veggie dip. I wonder what Rave would have to say about my healthy snack now?

Picturing her likely dramatic reaction I stifle a laugh as a smile paints my face.

"You're delusional you know." My peaceful bubble is popped.

"Excuse me?"

She flips her strawberry blonde hair over her shoulder. "Apparently dumb too."

Focusing on the knife in my hand I make sure to not chop off any fingers while I'm at it. "I heard you the first time, I was just giving you a chance to rethink what you said."

She scoffs and obnoxiously sips on her smelly green juice through her 'save the turtles' bamboo straw. "Sure."

"What can I help you with?" I ask in a bored tone as her annoying presence lingers.

"I don't need nor want any help," she laughs loudly as if what she said was funny.

"Then why are you just standing in the middle of the kitchen slurping on your plant juice?"

Scoffing, her nose scrunches up in distaste. "What a bitch." I'm pretty sure she thought my dumb human ears wouldn't pick up her mumbling.

"Look, Ruby," I turn to face her. "I don't know what your problem is, but it's getting old."

"Oh you want to know what my problem is?" Her faux innocent smile shifts into a dark sinister one. Taking my silence as an answer she purposefully stalks towards me slowly. "My problem, is that a weak pathetic human thinks that she's fit to rule a pack of wolves. Not to mention you will never be enough for Ronin or be able to satisfy him."

Somewhere inside of me I bristle at the personal use of his name. Only his parents and high ranking members are allowed to address him without his title. Not addressing him as Alpha is a blatant sign of disrespect or a ballsy move to test how much he actually likes you.

"I know that you are just jealous." I calmly reply back. Although my voice is level, a temper I never knew I had is rising; anybody who looked into my eyes could see the storm brewing.
