Chapter 5

Finn pov

"So how are you and Jake brothers?" Y/n asked looking quizzically at me

"Oh, well Jake's parents found me abandoned on a mountain when I was a baby and they took me in." I said looking at the floor

"Oh, I'm sorry,my parent's died when I was 5." She said 

I looked over at her with a surprised and sympathetic glance

"How old are you?" I asked trying to lighten the mood

"15." she answered

"I'm 16." I said smiling, she smiled back

"Well if you want you can look around some more or I can take you back to your room." I said looking up at the clock

"Can you take me to my room?" Y/n asks

"Sure." I said smiling, I was starting to get tired to

We climbed down the ladder and Jake was making something, Y/n followed me out the door and across the bridge to her room

"Well thanks again." she said walking in and sitting down on the edge of her bed

I nodded and smiled before shutting the door behind me, I walked back across the bridge and into the kitchen, Jake was eating soup at the table with Shelby

"Hey Jake, can I have some?" I asked walking over to the table

"Sure, does Y/n want any?" Jake asked standing up

"I'll go ask her." I said turning around and opening the door, I walked across the bridge as the moonlight shined down on the bridge illuminating everything in a soft glow, I knocked on her door But I didn't get an answer. I gently opened the door but she was already sleeping so I closed it again and walked back to the dining room. I sat next to Shelby

"She's sleeping." I said to Jake

"Ok, She'll probably be really hungry tomorrow since she hasn't eaten in 3 and a half day's." Jake said pouring soup into a bowl

"Should I wake her up?" I asked feeling guilty since I hadn't thought to ask before she fell asleep

"No, I'll leave a snack on the table in case she gets hungry." Jake said sitting back down 

"Ok." I said 

"Did you ask her where shes from?" Jake asked handing me the bowl

"No, why?" I asked confused as I ate a spoonful of soup

"Well where could she have came from if she hasn't ever seen or even heard of the candy kingdom, or talking animals? What if she came from where Susan did, and if so She probably isn't even a human." Jake said looking at me

"She didn't come from where Susan did, she talks normal." I said starting to have doubts, these were some good points

"Ok, but what if she did come from a place like Susan did, If she did she's probably a fish person." he said

" B-but Y/n isn't wearing a hat!" I said with more confidence

"Well have you seen if she has gills? Her h/c is always covering her neck." he pointed out

"Jake I'm pretty sure me or PB would have noticed if she had gills." I said looking at him skeptically

"Ok, but what if you didn't?"

"Jake, she has to be a human....I don't want to be the last one." I said looking at the table

"Ok, but look at you, your Ooo's greatest hero and you can kick every ones butt. Plus, I know the main reason you want her to be human. he said smirking

"What what other reason would there be?" I asked in confusion,

"You don't like her?" he asked knowingly

I could automatically feel the heat rising to my cheeks

"What no!" I yelled flipping over my bowl

"Ok, ok." Jake said stretching his arm over and picking up my bowl then he put it in the sink

I got up and went to our room, I changed into my pj's and laid down 'Do I like her? Her h/c and her sparkling e/c. Oh no.' I thought blushing, I pulled the drawstring tighter over my face and closed my eyes, I yawned and started to drift to sleep.

Jake pov

I watched as Finn climbed up the ladder

"He likes her." I said 

"Yeah, he he." Shelby said chuckling

"Who's y/n?" Shelby added

"Shes the girl we found in lake Selezon." I replied

"Ohh." Shelby said 

"Well I guess I better hit the hay as well." I said standing up and putting my bowl in the sink

"Goodnight." I said climbing up the ladder

"G-night!" Shelby yelled from the table

Your pov

You wake up to your stomach growling, You kept your eyes closed hoping to wake up in- well your actually not sure anymore, half of you wanted to see the orphanage and the other half wanted to see the tree fort. 'One...two...three!'  You thought opening your eyes. You were still in the tree fort and... you were happy about it. You weren't sure what time it was because there wasn't a clock in your room, you hopped out of bed locked the door and changed into some clothes. You sat on the edge of your bed and brushed your hair getting all the tangles out. you stood up unlocked the door and headed to the bathroom across the bridge, you opened the door and you were not prepared for what you saw, Jake was talking to a worm while he was making pancakes and the robots were playing some kind of game on the floor. you opened your mouth to say something but then decided not to question it and you went into the bathroom. you washed your hands and closed the door behind you

"Good morning!" BMO said hugging my leg

"Good morning." Neptr said waving his hand at me

"G-morning!" the worm yelled from were it was

"Morning Y/n." Jake said making bacon

"Uh, good morning." you said taken aback by the army of 'Good mornings' you received.'

"Do you want some bacon pancakes?" Jake asked putting pancakes on plates

"Yes please." you said sitting down at the table 'Bacon pancakes? They actually sound pretty good.'  You thought

Jake walked over and sat a plate with like 12 pancakes down in front of you and handed you a knife and fork, then he sat the worm down and gave it two very tiny pancakes

"Thank you!" You said looking hungrily at the pancakes before you

"Hi Y/n." the worm said

you stared at it for a minute

"Hi." you said awkwardly

"I'm Shelby." Shelby said smiling

"It's very nice to meet you Shelby." you said 'Now there's a talking worm. I think I'v seen just about everything now.'   You thought taking a bite of the pancakes, They were delicious and you realized how hungry you actually were, you started eating the rest of them rather quickly.
