I never truly knew your name when I was younger.

In fact, I had imagined you as beautiful, welcoming, strong.

Then again, as the child I was, I never knew or recognized you in my life until my parents began to talk about you.

I knew I would have to face you soon.

As everyone around me described you, your face, your mysterious aura, I couldn't help but anticipate meeting you and the things you had in store for me.

Will you guide and carry me towards triumph? Will I take your hand, or will you grab mine?

And better yet.

Will I be faced by pure and utter destruction from you?

My award, my failure, my ensuing embrace.

Will we fall in love? Or come to terms of complete, unadulterated hatred?

You were are mysterious as the stars in the night sky. Cool colored, small, seemingly insignificant, yet you can create and destroy life far too quickly for comfort.

Before, I didn't know how to feel about you.

I still don't.
