Chapter 26 - Reconciliation

Arnav sat on his bed, working away silently on his laptop. There was a lot to be done, not only for the wedding which would be held the following day, but for his upcoming annual AR fashion show. The Mehndi had passed smoothly that present evening, and they were on to the next. Tomorrow would be the wedding.

Amongst all the hype, a single person would not let him concentrate. Although not physically in front of him, she did have the power to invade his thoughts and leave him distracted almost all the time.

He put the laptop aside, and rested his head against the headboard.

It had been three days since the engagement. Since that night where she had finally let go. Three days of relief for Arnav Singh Raizada.

Khushi had given in, it was true. But he still saw fear in her eyes, hesitance in her touch. And he knew why - there was the question of NK, and the rest of the family who knew nothing about them.

He wanted nothing more than to ease it all away; every single negative thought that ran through her mind. He desired to tell everyone, the whole world if it was possible, that Khushi was his. That she wanted him too.

He recalled the past couple of days, all the rituals were performed. He had never cared for any such event, always shrugging them off. However, Khushi had asked him to stay. And he could not say no, leaving the Raizada clan astonished.

He had thoroughly enjoyed the way she had explained the significance of every ritual, the philosophy behind each. More than that, he loved the way in which she became flustered when he would follow her around secretly. It was the small little talks of hers, that he had missed the most. Her casual banter, which resonated within his head. The way her eyes sparkled, her hands moved around animatedly, and her smile became wider. And just when he had started enjoying the vision before his eyes, she had immediately stopped when NK came into view. Her expression changed completely, leaving her back to her quiet self. And he felt sick, seeing her suffer before his eyes. He felt helpless, because he could do nothing but watch. He had promised her not to create any drama until after the wedding, and he had reluctantly agreed. They were in a tangled web, that was not easy to unravel oneself out of.

But he knew one thing was for sure - she was not happy here, and she needed to get away from this environment. And if she was not happy, neither was he.

And since when did anyone stop Arnav Singh Raizada?

Airports had always scared Siddharth Gupta. Mostly because there were too many people. Crowds of figures everywhere...

As they stood in the long bustling terminal Siddharth could sense the emotions such as nervousness, and even sadness, of the people around him as they headed to their unknown destination. Siddharth on the other hand was full of excitement. He was absolutely ready to embark on this new journey, a new experience.

"Passengers boarding the flight are advised to check in at Gate 7. 15 minutes left for checking in."

There was an announcement asking all the passengers to that flight to check in at Gate 22 with their boarding passes. Then there was a mad rush across the lounge where the young and strong made it easily jumping over the furniture, mothers with children became reckless, as they lost a child or some hand baggage.

They were already queued at the check in desk; Madhumati was deep in thought as Payal pouted. As they approached the check in agent he could feel his stomach pulsating, after all he was leaving the place that had been his home for 20 years.
