It's called Tappas. You have to submit a form and portfolio to be able to even publish anything. They have a system like coins... but it's called ink and it's been around much longer than the coins but has the same exact function.

You need it to buy a chapter in a story. Authors on tapas are very different though because they can make it completely free... but have a timer so you can't get the next part ahead of said timer without using ink. You can also have a completely free story too as well as support the artist/author by donating ink.

Ink is bought in the shop but you can watch videos to get some but 'chapters' (called episodes on Tapas) can cost from 200 to more. You only get maybe 11 or 12 and I've tried the invite friends part to get 200 ink. It does absolutely nothing each time I've tried it.

It takes forever to even get 100 let alone enough to buy a whole book.
And as far as I'm aware wattpad doesn't even let you watch adds to get coins. It just shoves adds in your face after every chapter, and wattpaders get no reward.
I am annoyed that possibly this could be wattpaders in the future except way way more restricted. On top of that Tapas has comics AND novels AND stories. Wattpad already is short on that part and has no section for art/comics.
This is a conversation that luckily ends well but it could have gone very bad.

If they're 13 they shouldn't be telling that to random people on the internet the person they were arguing with could have been a hacker or not as nice.

That's the end of their conversation but still imagine if it went another way and it got aggressive or one of them started making threats.
I think supporters of coins and haters of coins may have arguments like this but worse. Just as a warning for if any of you get in an argument.
Here is how some other people on Tapas view it's ink system.
