Jaemin didn't always know Mark. He found him through shady business that happened at DRINK one night. Doyoung converted another vampire, and he and Jaemin thought that was going to be the end of him. Turns out it doesn't matter if you convert humans if you're a pureblood because nothing happens to the blood of the person who converts- you can't swap blood like that. Doyoung and Jaemin fell across a revelation. They didn't realize that this lasting law of vampires was just created for purebloods to stay classy, which meant there were probably more purebloods out there.

"You know what this means right? We can go and play around all we want. We won't get affected," Doyoung's eyes sparkled as he held Jaemin's shoulders.

"Calm down, though. You don't want to go and do something you'll regret," Jaemin warned Doyoung. "Be careful."

Doyoung didn't listen. He went all over town and converted humans left and right due to his discovery. He ended up converting so many humans that he didn't even have a count of how many people were vampires. Some of the humans he converted even committed suicide because they couldn't deal with the fact that they were vampires. Doyoung was reckless. At some point, he even killed a girl during a conversion. He didn't know how to handle the situation, so he ran away.

He ended up killing the daughter of a really wealthy businessman. Jaemin had to keep Doyoung hidden from the rest of the world because there were pictures all over the news asking for civilians to find and either kill Doyoung or turn him into the police- both of which were bad options. If Doyoung were turned into the police, the world would find out that he's a vampire. If people tried killing him, it wouldn't work because vampires could only die one of two ways: natural death, or by a special bullet.

"Jaemin, what do I do?" Doyoung was crying one day. "What do I do?"

Jaemin slapped Doyoung in the face and held him by his collar as he hissed, "I fucking told you to be careful, and now look at the mess you created."

"I know! I'm sorry, Jaemin," Doyoung broke down. "You have to help me."

Jaemin exhaled. He let go of Doyoung and ran his fingers through his hair. He then took his phone out of his pocket and called Chenle.

"Keep a pureblood room open. We need to keep Doyoung safe," Jaemin instructed.

"Why can't you keep him at Renjun's house or Jisung's house?" Chenle asked.

"They'll kill him if I do that. You need to keep him safe," Jaemin said before hanging up.

Jaemin took Doyoung to DRINK through the back entrance and up to the pureblood room that Chenle reserved. They locked Doyoung in the room with a crateful of blood wines. Jaemin exhaled sharply as Chenle finished locking the room, Chenle's eyebrows furrowing as he looked at the distressed boy.

"What's wrong?" Chenle asked.

"I have this splitting headache. Do you have painkillers?" Jaemin asked.

"Behind the bar counter. Come with me," Chenle grabbed Jaemin's hand and led him downstairs. In the time Jaemin and Chenle were gone, there was a man targeting the vampire in the locked room. He had snuck in through the back when Jaemin was bringing Doyoung into DRINK. He busted down the door to the private room and walked in slowly. Doyoung was lying in the bed when the boy entered.

"Who are you? How did you get in here?" Doyoung asked hysterically.

"You don't need to know since you're going to die in a few seconds anyway, pureblood Kim Dongyoung," the man said.

Doyoung didn't go without a fight. He attacked the hooded figure and tried to get the gun out of his hand. Chenle and Jaemin, who were both still downstairs, sensed something was wrong and ran upstairs. They ran into the room and just as they entered, Doyoung was taken off guard. The hooded figure was able to shoot Doyoung, and Doyoung died.

"Who are you?" Jaemin asked the hooded figure.

The hooded boy laughed. He walked towards the window as Chenle ran over to the dead vampire on the ground. Jaemin approached the hooded figure and repeated, "Who are you?"

"If you're so curious, here's my card," the boy flicked a card to Jaemin. "Feel free to hire my services whenever you want, pureblood Na Jaemin."

Jaemin caught the card, and the hooded figure disappeared out of the window. Chenle looked up at Jaemin and said, "Doyoung is dead. What do we do?"

Jaemin looked at the card as he said, "Dispose of the body and tell Renjun to release a statement. There's nothing we can do now."

Chenle called the security guards to drag Doyoung's dead body out of the room, a trail of blood sweeping the ground as his body was dragged across the ground. Chenle was silent as he and Jaemin sat in the room where Doyoung was shot. They closed DRINK down early that night so they could properly dispose of the body. Renjun and Jisung later joined the boys in the room, Renjun carrying a file with him.

"What's that?" Jaemin asked slowly.

"List of suspects. Were you guys able to find out who killed him?" Renjun asked.

Chenle and Jaemin both looked at each other. Chenle was busy trying to get Doyoung to respond to him when the hooded figure left, so he didn't know that inside Jaemin's pocket was all the information they needed to catch Doyoung's killer. Jaemin and Chenle both shook their heads. Renjun sighed and ran his fingers through his hair as he presented them with the file.

"What about his face? Did you guys see his face?" Jisung asked.

"I was too busy with Doyoung. Jaemin was confronting the guy, but he didn't say anything about who he was," Chenle said slowly. "He was wearing a mask. We couldn't see his face.

Jaemin nodded. He opened the file and turned through the pages when he saw a guy that looked familiar. He had the exact same surname as the guy on the card, but not the same first name. He pointed at the profile and said, "Why is this guy on the list?"

"Him?" Renjun looked at the file. "His name is Lee Minhyung, but he goes by the name of Mark Lee. He's a Dhampir who was in the same cult as Doyoung."

"Doyoung was in a cult?" Chenle was surprised.

"Yeah, he was in a vampire hunting cult. I'm surprised he didn't kill any of us. We found out just now," Jisung told Chenle.

"I'm surprised he was part of the cult and went around converting humans," Jaemin whispered to himself.

"What did you say?" Renjun asked- he didn't hear Jaemin.

"Nothing," Jaemin smiled and closed the file. "Let's get out of here. The place stinks of Doyoung's blood."

The boys left the room, and Jaemin looked back one more time. He thought about the man that killed Doyoung. He pulled the card out of his pocket and looked at the card one more time before scoffing. He stuck the card back in his pocket and muttered under his breath, "Kim Dongyoung, Mark Lee did a good job in killing you son of a bitch."
