I was confused for a major part of the day. Damien and Emma? I did not see that coming. Emma kept saying sorry to me no matter how many times I tried to convince her I wasn't angry. The truth is I wasn't. I was just mind blown. I mean I still cared about Damien but it wasn't anything compared to my feelings about Chase.
Saying his name brought me back to his silent treatment this morning and I felt terrible all over again. When the bell rang for third period I couldn't go. I couldn't face Chase and Damien in the exspanse of an hour-it was just too much. So I went to the front office intent on ditching and found Rick standing behind the glass. Finally some luck.
I walked up to the glass and gestured for him to come over to me. He sauntered over with a smirk on his face.
"Elle what did you do different? You look hot." He said. Shoot! I forgot about the heat.
I shrugged my shoulders, "Hey I need you to write me a pass to get out of school."
"Elle I don't know that doesn't seem-"
"Five bucks." I said rolling my eyes.
"Oh look at that!" He said picking up an off campus pass and beginning to fill it out. I snickered.
"But seriously are you ok?" He asked still looking at the paper.
"Not really." I said pulling a five out of my pocket.
"What's wrong?" He asked looking at me with sincerity as he handed me the pass.
"Can't talk now. I'm not on campus anymore." I said handing him the five, winking, and then walking out to my car.
I then realized that I didn't drive this morning-Chase did. Fudge! I walked out of the school parking lot wishing I had brought my skateboard. I hid my bag behind a bush taking one last look at my phone before I did. I had six messages from Chase, two from Emma, and one from Damien. I put my phone into my "hiding place" without looking at what they said and took off running. I ran down the streets with all the power that existed in my legs. My wolf begged to be set free but I had to wait.
Once I finally reached a forest I didn't hesitate to shift. My auburn hair shot out and my body elongated. I ran and ran relishing in the feeling of the wind of my face. Sadly not even the thrill of running could help me. I reached the edge of the forest and laid down. I stared at the scenery until I heard something in my head. It started off as a type of screeching causing me to paw at my ears and spin around in pain. Then it dissipated and turned into a voice.
"Elle where are you?" I heard Chase say with worry in his voice.
"Oh so now you want to talk to me?" I thought back to him.
"I'm sorry about that." he said.
"How are we talking right now?" I asked.
"Obviously someone didn't pay attention in history last year."
"Just tell me Chase!" I snapped growling.
"Mind-link. Mates establish them over time." He answered sounding hurt.
"Can you hear everything I'm thinking?" I asked.
I saw him nodding. This was weird.
"I know but it's kinda cool huh?" He said, "you coming back to school?"
Hell no. I thought.
"Ok well then I'm coming to you."
"No chase leave me alone please." I said as I started to cry. Shit why did I have to cry now?
I'm such a dick. I heard him think.
"Yeah you are." I answered.
I felt him whimper. He wanted to come and protect me. He felt terrible for this morning. He only did it because he thought the best way was to keep his distance from me.
"I'll be back before lunch." I said smiling.
"Ok." He said. Then he was gone from my head.
I laid there for a few more minutes before running back to the edge of the forest. I put my clothes back on and was about to start running again until I heard something. I turned, instantly going into defense mode and trying to see what was out there.
I sniffed. Another werewolf. Male. One I didn't know. I kept my stance and searched for the source of the scent.
"Why are you hiding?" I yelled.
The forest floor splintered and crunched as a man landed hard on it. He planted his feet firmly on the ground, stood up, and then began walking towards me. He was handsome I'd give him that. Brown hair with brown eyes which doesn't sound appealing but this guy made it work. He was built, but nothing near Chase.
"You're Elodie." He said standing three feet away from me.
"And you are?" I asked. How did he know my name?
"Lauren." He said with a smile.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"I don't want anything, but someone else does." He answered stepping closer to me.
I was starting to get freaked out, "What do they want?" I asked.
"Uhh you." He said trying to punch my face after he spoke but I dodged it and sent my knee into his stomach causing him to grunt in pain. He then spun me around and pinned me against the ground but I hit my forehead against his and forced him off me. I got up and ran faster then I ever had before.
"Chase! Chase!" I screamed through the mindlink.
"Elodie what's wrong?" He quickly answered.
"I need you. I've been-UAAHHAAHHH!" I screamed in reaction to Lauren grabbing my ankle. He twisted it and it snapped causing me to scream.
"Hold on I'm coming." Chase said. I could see him running.
Lauren stood above me and punched my face.
"Fight Elodie! Fight!" Chase yelled to me.
I stood and dealt with the pain in my ankle as I pulled Lauren into a headlock and began to repeatedly punch his face. I then felt someone else grab me from behind and my world went black as I screamed, "CHASE!!!!!!!!!!"
Chase's POV
I ran through the forest as I heard her scream, "CHASE!!!!!!" one last time through the mindlink and then she was gone. I resorted to my nose and followed her scent through the forest. I could smell her along with two other male werewolves.
When I get there I'm going to kill them.
I ran until I stumbled into a clearing. Elodie's scent was here but it ended here. Where was she? I looked around but couldn't find her. I ran in almost every direction trying to find her smell. How were they cutting it off? The only way a mate can lose their mates scent is if the mate is dead. No there was no way Elodie was dead. I would find her. I would.
Hey guyss! So how's school going? Isn't it amazing? Yeah no. Sorry this chapter is so short but I have a buttload of homework that I have to do that I decided to procrastinate for this chapter. Cuz that's just how must I luu you. But I hope you guys like this chapter. Damien and Emma yeah? What would their couple name be? Demma? Emaien? That sounds like something from lord of the rings. XD Damma! no I'm kidding. And Lauren is too yur right! Alright well next chapter should be up soon. Love you guysssss!
