A quick note before I start: first I'm sorry for being dead on this account, and second I try to give the advice and stuff I can but I'm not the smartest crayon in the box and I don't know everything. Okay, onto the passage thing.

So for anyone who doesn't know a dead name is a name you were given at birth and some transitioning people change their names, but it isn't as easy as you tell people that's your name and it's your name now, sadly it's not that easy but I'm going to share some tips that helped me be referred to as my chosen name without legally changing it yet.

School: some schools will allow you to go to the office/councilors/principals and make it so you can go by your chosen name in school. I'm pretty sure most schools do that but if your
school doesn't the first step is to have your friends refer to you by your chosen name, then talk to your teachers to see if you can write that name on papers, be called that, etc.(Same thing with pronouns too!)

With other situations, it should just be a simple question, but I would suggest either way, researching what the requirements are to legally change your name in your area.

I hope this helped somewhat and I might add more to this later but for now, stay safe and I wish you all good luck🖤
