Luka Magnotta was a Canadian actor and porn star who was originally known for posting videos on Youtube showing him torturing small kittens. In 2012, he posted an 11 minute video titled 'One Lunatic, 1 Ice Pick', uploaded to Bestgore.com depicting a naked male tied to a bed frame. The male was repeatedly stabbed with an ice pick and a kitchen knife, then dismembered, followed by acts of necrophilia. Megnotta then used a knife and fork to cut off some flesh and lets the dog feed on the body.

The authorities were able to obtain an extended version of the video and confirmed that cannibalism may have been performed. Magnotta mailed the different body parts to political offices in Ottawa, while others were found in Montreal and mailed to Vancouver school. Magnotta was on the run for a couple of weeks before he was finally caught.
