I would never know her well enough to know her thoughts in those last minutes, would never know if she left us on purpose. But the not-knowing would not keep me from caring, and I would always love Alaska Young, my crooked neighbour, with all my crooked heart.

Oh, how much I love this quote. It comes back to the quote of the loving your crooked neighbour with your crooked heart. Miles always admired Alaska and looked up to her but he also glorified her. He did not see her flaws, only what made her perfect to him. With this quote he acknowledges her imperfections but also declares that he still loves her despite all those flaws. He also acknowledges that he might never know what she thought and all the crooked ways her mind worked but that doesn't matter to him because he loves her for all that she is and for all that she is not.
