She cries out as she moves towards the light.
The knives in her back are buried so deep that anything she does hurts.
The light is so close
But the pain is so much.
How can she keep going when all she knows is pain?
The pain drives her
Until she just has one more step.
She can feel the light on her face.
The warmth that comes with it
And the glimmer of happiness that bounces around her soul.
And then the light disappears.
She is back at the beginning of her journey
But this time she knows what waits for her.
And she knows that it is worth the pain.
