i opened the door of my grandfather's cabin, which was hidden in the middle of the woods, and i walk inside with the freezing girl trailing behind me.
she walks in and looks around.
"pretty." she smiles.
"it's not too bad," i say, closing the door behind me and walking next to her. "it just needs a little cleaning up."
i really don't know why i'm helping this random girl, but there's just something about her that's telling me to trust her.
"so, my name's y/n, what's yours?" i ask the girl.
she turns around and shows me her wrist.
"eleven?" i ask her.
she doesn't say anything, instead she nods.
"how about we call you el, short for eleven?" i smile at her.
she smiles back at me, walking around the cabin.
"how about we get you some food." i say, looking through my bag for something el could eat.
"i've only got eggos." i say, passing them to her.
she immediately rips open the box and starts to devour the eggos.
"you sure do love eggos, don't you?" i say, as she nods in response. "this will be your safe place, okay?"
she stops eating and looks at me.
"safe place?" she asks me.
"yeah, safe place. nobody can hurt you." i smile at her.
"promise?"
"promise."
