I didn't realize the music was going to be this loud.

Though, I suppose I should have.

This isn't my scene, Leila. I belong inside. Cozy with a blanket, sipping tea, and reading a good book. Smooth jazz playing in the background.

Not this...loud, abrasive, nonsense.

And, besides that, Peter is really wearing on my last nerves. I know he has a girlfriend, but even she's threatened by you. I've never seen a person's face scrunch up the way Sarah's does when she's around you. Maybe it's because Peter goes out of his way to touch you, running his hand down the smalls of your back every-so-often. Playing your hair right in front of me, like I'm nothing.

Fuck this guy.

"I'm still not drunk enough for this!" Evan complains. Her wig would beg to differ, slipping down her forehead. Stands of fox red spilling out from beneath. "I can't do it!"

Mark pats her on the head as if she's nothing more than a toy poodle, his group of nameless girls texting away and taking selfies with him as he does so. It's like he's a local celebrity, but I can't place him.

"It'll be fun," you try to hype her up, it's obvious you're desperate to go but no one's biting, "just like old times."

Playing on nostalgia would normally work, but Evan's still moping over her fiance. That's all she'll talk about, she needs you to bring the fun to her but you're failing.

It's sad.

"Sarah, what about you?" Peter encourages his girlfriend to play nice, but she's one drink away from slapping him.
