CH•00 (Prologue) - "Goodbye Human Life, Hello Reptile Life"

I was immediately taken to the E.R. when my symptoms started to harshly reveal themselves. There was a large outbreak that happened so suddenly, none of us expected it at all. I was one of those who got infected. But, I didn't know I got infected until I noticed the symptoms in its late stages.

Less than 15% of those who got infected survived from the plague when their symptoms started showing up as late as mine, if not later. Reasons from the low survival rate is either from lack of skilled personnel staff, supplies running out, or it was just too late to save them.

I don't know if I'll be one of those that'll make it through this. I hope I am. I still have so many things to do. Many movies I haven't watched. Many games I haven't completed. There's even a girl I haven't confessed yet. I don't want to die without experiencing my first kiss yet. Oh, please let me live through this. I promise I'll study hard. Is top 9 in class not good enough? I've been quite a good boy to my parents too. I haven't committed a single crime in my life, not once yet.

I'm probably overthinking this. But, I'm pretty sure that many others like me have also had their lives taken from them despite all their good deeds in life. Haaaah...... what a cruel world we live in. If I ever get reborn again, I'll make every second count.

I feel cold. Am I dead? But, I still have sensation towards coldness. I also feel wet and slimy. It's like I'm in the water or something. A murky water, that is. Oh, I can move my body. That means I'm still alive.

I heard a splash. No... I felt it? So, that means I really am in the water. Am I getting healed while in the water? Did the hospital I was taken to even have this sort of facility? Can I open my eyes, I wonder.

I open my eyes. I see... trees? Rocks? And, a body of water?! Where on earth am I?! I can't feel my feet touching the ground, I also can't feel my hands and feet swaying around under the water, so am I floating on the water without moving my body? There's something else. Something else at the end of my tailbone. What's this? I can move it?

I calm down for a moment and get out of the water. That's odd. My body feels kind of heavy, I can't lift it up. I crawl out of the water and walk on all fours towards land. I can feel the wet muddy soil on my chest and belly. I must be naked. I turn my body around and take a good look at myself on the water.

............... W-what am I seeing? Is this... me? I-... I've...... I've turned into some monster!!!
