On Friday evening Dani was forced to get out of the house to go to the carnival festival. She invited Oliver and Finn so she doesn't have to go alone or hang out with Kurt and his friends. The three of them had more fun then Dani had expected. The festival looked just like it used to before Dani went to Adelaide. Therefore all the memories she had made with Daniel, were bright in her mind while she walked with Finn and Oliver around.
'Oh, I know the trick to this one!' Oliver said while dragging his two friends to a game where you had to try and knock out a tower of tins with a small ball. 'You wanna bet I can hit them all in three throws?'
'Three times is too much,' Finn laughed, crossing his arms over each other in front of his body.
'Make it a competition?' Oliver asked while looking at his two friends. Dani laughed and nodded.
'Sure, but don't cry when I beat both of you!' Dani laughed while getting two offended looks back to her.
'In your dreams!' Oliver said as he already ran to the booth. Finn and Dani laughed and as they walked behind their friend to the booth Finn put his arm around Dani's shoulder.
'Everyone gets three shots,' Oliver said when the two arrived at the booth while Oliver already had paid.
'What are we betting for?' Finn asked as Oliver gave him three balls. Oliver looked at them thoughtfully as he was thinking about something good to bet on. He was confident that he would win anyway.
'How about the two losers has to treat the winner with a dinner?' he said, currently not thinking about something better than that. Food was great anyway, free food was the best.
'What if no one wins?' Dani asked with a grin. It was a pretty hard game. She played it many times with Daniel who was very competitive and wanted always to show how good he is in every game.
'There will be a winner,' Finn said, also being the confident person that he almost always was.
'Yeah and that person will be me!' Oliver said right behind Finn's sentence. Dani couldn't help but roll her eyes as she stood in the middle, looking at how Oliver threw his first ball at the tins. He missed. All three times he missed, making Finn laugh hard at him.
'Okay, Dani's turn. It's harder then it looks, don't get fooled by it.' Oliver said, ignoring Finn while looking at Dani with a serious face. Dani smiled as she patted Oliver on his shoulder. She threw her three balls, but as she already thought, all three of them touched the tins, but the tins never fell down. Dani tried to look sad at the two boys and made a pout face.
'Don't be sad Dani. At least you touched the tins.' Finn grinned as he gave a short look at Oliver. 'now watch and learn,' Finn moved Dani and Oliver away as he made himself ready to throw. Oliver shook his head in disgust as he put his arms over each other.
'Show-off,' he whispered to Dani. She couldn't help but think the rivalry between the two friends was very amusing to watch. It became even more amusing when Finn actually managed to throw the tins to the ground in his second attempt. Oliver started to swear, saying that that wasn't fair for some reason, while Finn was celebrating and after his third throw he picked out a price.
'Here Oliver. I won this for you,' Finn said as he tried to give the teddy bear that he chose as a price to Oliver. Oliver pushed the teddy bear away from his face as he looked annoyed back at Finn.
'I don't need that stupid bear. You just had good luck, that's all.' Oliver said. Dani thought for a second that he really was mad, but when a smile crept up on his face those thoughts went away.
'Fine, then here Dani. I won this for you.' Finn tried to give his bear to Dani, but even she didn't take it.
'Yeah, bye Finn. I don't want to be your sloppy second,' Dani gave Finn a playful push as he tried to put his arm around her and force her to take the bear.
'You'll never be my sloppy second! Oliver is, he just gets jealous so I have to give him sometimes more attention.'
'Just take that damn bear,' Oliver sighed. He took the bear out of Finn's hands and pushed it into my arms. 'I know you wanted it anyway,'
'Fine. you guys are so pushy,' Dani laughed. As they were walking and laughing, they suddenly got stopped by for Dani a familiar face and for the two other friends a complete stranger.
'Dani? Oh my god, you actually are here!' Dani looked behind her where the voice was coming from. She immediately forced a smile on her face as she looked at an old friend at her.
'Hey Sarah,'  Dani said. Sarah was one of her old friends in her friend group with Daniel. But when Daniel and Dani cut off their friendship with ignoring each other, her friendship with the rest of the group was gone also. It was, therefore, a surprise for Dani that Sarah was talking to her.
'I thought Gavin and Carl were just joking and trying to annoy Daniel when they said they saw you tonight. But I guess they were right after all.' Sarah looked at the two boys that were with Dani. She looked interested at them, which Dani didn't like one tiny bit. 'I'm Sarah by the way.' She put her hand out first to Finn and after he introduced himself she went gave Oliver a hand who also introduced himself, but Sarah seemed to only have eyes for Finn.
'He's looking for you by the way.' Sarah suddenly said, ripping her eyes off from Finn and looking at Dani again.
'What?' Dani asked, going from an annoyed look to a confused look.
'Daniel. Don't tell me you already forgot about him!' Sarah laughed while eyeing the two boys again. 'Although I would understand why.'
'Of course I haven't forgotten about him.' Dani said, rolling her eyes. Her two friends saw how annoyed she looked and decided to help her out.
'Hey, didn't we have to go to that thing?' Olive asked looking at both Finn and Dani. Finn knew immediately what Oliver was doing and decided to play along.
'Oh yeah! you right. We should hurry.' Finn said. Sarah smiled at the two boys.
'Well, I have to go back anyway. I'll tell Dan you're here. He would be happy to hear that.' Sarah said before leaving again. The two boys looked at Dani who kept herself calm. She always got mixed feelings about Sarah. She could be nice if she looked at you as a friend of hers. But if not she could be very bitchy.
'She was...' Oliver started, but didn't finish his sentence. Instead, Finn finished his sentence.
'Interesting...' Finn said. 'I hate her already.'
'Right?' Oliver laughed, agreeing with Finn. Dani just shook her head.
'Let's get a good place to watch the fireworks,' she said as she was already walking further. The two boys shared a look with each other before walking next to Dani.
'A good place to watch the fireworks or a good place to hide from Daniel?' Oliver asked while his eyebrows raised. Dani hated this. How could her friends know her so well? She wasn't ready to see Daniel again, at least not tonight. She needed some preparation before seeing him eye to eye. What was she supposed to say to him? Could she even look at him in the eyes without thinking about their last interaction with each other? So many questions were flying around through Dani's head that she didn't realise she walked straight into a person, even when her friends tried to warn her. She didn't seem to hear them, however, she came back to reality when she looked right into those brown eyes from the person that used to be her best friend.

A/N: Honestly, one of my favourite chapter I've written. I just really love the relationship between Dani and Finn & Oliver.
