Getting that first phone call had given Dani almost a heart attack but it had soon enough changed into joy as she saw it was Daniel. He had sounded very tired as he explained how his flight was and how the weather in Monaco was. Half of the time he didn't make sense as he was too tired and his mind was only working half, but Dani didn't mind. He could be talking about the chair he had been sitting on in the aeroplane and she would still listen closely. The days after that call, Daniel had already broken his promise by being too busy to call. She knew that a call every day was never going to happen because he was so busy, let alone Daniel calling her so much that she would get crazy of her phone, as he had told her he would do. But now she slowly started to get crazy about it not going off with her ringtone. It was getting to her so much that she had forced both Finn and Oliver to distract her.
'Have you packed already or not?' Oliver asked Finn as they were both sitting in Dani's room with Dani lying on her bed, staring at her phone. The two boys felt both a little bit uncomfortable because they just didn't know how to distract their friend.
'No. I'm doing that tomorrow. How about you Dani? Have you packed?' Finn looked at Dani with a worried face. She shook her head.
'Not yet,' she mumbled.
'Maybe we could do that now together!' Oliver came with the idea. That must help her distract a little bit, right?
'Yeah. You will thank us for that Dani.' Finn said, playing along with Oliver and being slightly relieved when he stretched his arm to Dani and she taking his hand so that he could pull her off the bed. She took out her suitcase from under her bed and put it on the bed. Oliver sat down on the bed next to her suitcase and somehow it reminded her right back to the day she looked at how Daniel was packing his stuff in his suitcase. It actually made her sad again.
'With what do you normally start with?' Finn asked as he clapped his hand which made Dani turn her attention back to her friend.
'We don't have to do this.' Dani sighed.
'No! No! We do! So let's start.' Finn said again. Dani looked from Finn to Oliver and finally give in. She let her phone fall back on the bed and walked over to her closet. She took out all the clothes she brought with her and with all of them in her hands she threw it all at once in her suitcase.
'So... I guess I'm done.' Dani said and even smiled to her two friends, although the smile didn't seem to be generous, it was more like a sarcastic smile.
'Funny Dani. C'mon let's not do this like that.' Finn sighed. He had a lot of patience with his friend that was just sad about missing her boyfriend, but he also thought enough was enough. She was allowed to be in a slump the first two days, but after a while, you gotta just accept it and go on with your life. At least that was Finn's opinion.
'Fine.' she said. There was no sarcasm in her voice or anger. The sadness really took over all of that as she was folding her clothes back neatly and placed it just as neatly in her suitcase. She packed her suitcase with more stuff that she brought here from Adelaide and as she was almost done with packing her phone went off. She looked with big eyes to her friends as the ringtone kept on ringing.
'Well? Pick up your phone before your boyfriend hangs up.' Oliver laughed as he thought her shocked expression was funny. Even Finn was smiling at her as she picked her phone up with a smile.
'Daniel?' she asked through the phone. She bit on her underlip and looked over to her friends who both had an amusing smile on their face as she was waiting for a response back.
'Hey Dani. How are you? I'm sorry for not calling you yesterday or the day before. I was really busy and when I finally got time I was too tired to keep my eyes open.' Daniel said. Dani could hear from only his voice that he was tired... again. He was probably making long days.
'I understand, don't worry about it. I'm- Stop laughing you two.' Dani interrupted her conversation when her two friends had listened to her conversation and couldn't help but laugh at her lies.
'Are you with your brothers?' Daniel asked with an amused laugh. Dani turned back to her phone and tried to ignore her two friends.
'No, with Oliver and Finn. They think they're sooo funny.' Dani told him and couldn't help but roll her eyes as she still heard her two friends laughing in the background.
'Oh! Tell them I said hi.' Daniel said, making Dani smile as she never thought at the beginning of their relationship that Daniel would be this friendly with her friends. She loved it.
'I will. Later. Now tell me about your day.' Dani said and even moved out of her room and walked into the bathroom for a little bit more privacy.
'My day was boring. I trained the whole day with Sam and he's literally breaking my body in pieces. Tell me about your day instead. What are you and Finn and Oliver doing?'
'I don't think he's really breaking your body. He actually promised me to bring you back to me in one piece.' Dani said as she smiled brightly to herself in the mirror.
'He has?' Daniel asked confused, making Dani laugh shortly as she told him yes. 'Well, then I guess I have my next excuse ready for tomorrow.'
'You're unbelievable sometimes.' Dani laughed before she got asked again what she was doing today and with her responding that she was simply packing her stuff to go back to Adelaide. Their conversation went on for the next fifteen minutes until they said goodbye to each other and Daniel promised her he would actually call her again tomorrow. She hoped he would though.
