As Dani met up with Finn and Oliver she finds herself thinking back at the comment Daniel made when she left him with his friends. It was one thing that he called her friends a replacement, but the way he said made her annoyed. Was he jealous? Or did he just not like Finn and Oliver? Which would be ridiculous, because he didn't know them, and if he did know them as Dani did, she was sure he would like them.
'You're still here with us, Dani?' Oliver asked while Finn laughed as he waved a hand in front of her face to get her attention.
'Hmm?' she asked confused, confirming that she wasn't listening to Oliver's question.
'Never mind then. I'm bored, so I'm gonna look for a volunteer that wants to go on a date with me,' Oliver grinned as he jumped up and wiped away the sand on his leg.
'How charming,' Dani made as a comment when Oliver jogged away from the duo. Finn started to laugh at her comment and agreed with her.
'That's our Oliver,' Finn grinned as he put his sunglasses on and lay down on his towel to take all the sun in. 'But what's going on with you? You look so down, was your job not as fun as you thought?'
'No it was,' Dani sighed, playing with the sand. 'I had to work with Daniel, we talked some things out. Hanged out at a café we used to go to all the time and it was all fun until the rest of my ex-friend group decided to join in,'
'Was it that bad?' Finn asked and showed his eyes behind his sunglasses.
'One of them, Sarah, the one you actually met thought I did it with the both of you,' Dani waited patiently until Finn got it processed in his head. He sat up straight and took his sunglasses off.
'As in..,' Finn made a circle with his thumb and his index finger and moved with his other index finger in and out of the circle. Dani started to laugh hard as she pushed Finn's hands down.
'Yes, like that,' she giggled, still holding his hands down, scared he would do it again. Finn laughed amused at Dani's red cheeks.
'Don't let Oliver know about that,' Finn grinned as he looked for his friend that was somewhere walking on the beach.
'Wasn't planning on doing that,' Dani said, rolling her eyes as she knew exactly what Oliver would've said. It would've been something like; Now that people think we do it? Should we do it? Of course, he would say it in a joking way, but there would be a little part of him that wouldn't mind it as people once thought Imogen and he had something and he had that exact question for her.
'What's that idiot doing?' Finn laughed with a sigh coming right after it. Dani searched for Oliver through the many people on the beach and finally found him not far from us standing with his feet in the sea and talking to two girls. His body language was screaming douche, making Dani shake her head. Oliver wasn't a jerk, far from it even, but somehow when he starts flirting with strangers he manages to change completely from personality. Dani was glad to be never the girl he was flirting with, but she couldn't help but feel amused looking at the scene from up far and so did her friend next to her.
'Ohh!' Finn suddenly yelled out when he saw his friend getting hit in the face. Dani pulled a painful face as she was sure it would hurt a lot. While Dani felt bad for her friend that he was so bad at flirting, Finn could only see it as an amusement for himself. Finn never had to do his best to flirt with girls, he had the looks and the charms. Not only the girls were falling for him easily, but Dani had seen some boys do the same when they went out as a group in Adelaide to some bars. Oliver slowly walked back over the duo as he still had his hand on his cheek that slowly was turning more and more red.
'Mate, what did you tell that poor girl now?' Finn grinned when Oliver stood in front of them. He sighed annoyed as he sat down on his own towel that had been laying next to Dani fully in the sun.
'I don't want to talk about it,' He mumbled pissed off. Dani couldn't help but let a laugh escape her mouth. She pressed her lips together as his friend looked with raised eyes at her. 'Is it that funny to ya?'
'I mean...' Dani started right before she started to laugh again. Oliver picked her up easily out of the sand and pulled her close to his body as he walked over to the sea with Dani in his hand. Dani screamed at him to let go of her. She had her normal clothes on as she went straight from when she was with Daniel to her two friends. Dani had her arms tightly around Oliver's neck, hoping that if she held on tight enough he wouldn't throw her in the water. It was a lost cost though. Oliver had his swimming suit on and his shirt was with Finn with the rest of his stuff. He was ready to go for a swim in the sea. Dani wasn't, but realistically seen he didn't care. Oliver had already made it with his feet into the sea.
'Ready for a swim?' he asked with a big grin on his face. Dani only held him tighter around his neck and even had her legs around his waist.
'Oliver! Bring me back to land!' Dani whined.
'What? You want me to let go of you?' Oliver asked, pretending to be confused as he kept walking more and deeper into the sea.
'Oliver!' Dani said in shock as he pretended to let go of her.
'Okay, fine.' Oliver said and without giving Dani a warning he let himself fall sideways into the water, still having Dani in his arms. They both got with their heads above water and as soon as they did Oliver got a wave of water over himself.
'Was that really necessary?' Oliver laughed as he pushed his hair back.
'Was all of this really necessary?' Dani asked him the same question as she pointed to her wet clothes. Oliver hadn't walked too far away from the beach when he let himself and Dani fall in the water, which meant they were at the part where they both could easily stand up straight.
'Well if I knew your shirt was going to be seethrough I might've thought about it just a few seconds more... but, yeah at the end it was necessary.' Dani shook her head as she had to force herself not to slap that grin off her friends face. They slowly walked back to dry land. Dani's wet clothes felt heavier and heavier by the second. She pulled her shirt off, creating all kinds of reactions by her friend next to her.
'Oliver, stop being so childish,' Dani grinned as she put her shirt casually over her shoulder.
'I will, but I don't know about those guys over there with Finn,' Oliver grinned. He pointed at the place where Finn was still sitting, but now also talking to Carl while Daniel was looking at Dani.
