CHAPTER 48-POINT 1857 & COLONEL CHANDRA'S DEATH
Capt.R reached his cabin with guilt after that incident with Naina & sat on the sofa & started thinking about Naina. On that time his mobile rang, he took it & saw that who that was but it showed private number. He thought for a moment & answered the phone. The speaker was his senior officer Colonel Shakti Chandra, but his voice had a strange panic which Capt.R listened but Capt.R asked in amazement," Where are you sir? Sir, I'd sent a search party to search you but..........."Colonel Chandra was sitting in front of a man who had his face hidden in the darkness. There two gunmen stood besides the Colonel very alert. The place was clean but it looked like that they're in a basement. Colonel Chandra said bossily,"Captain, listen to me carefully. Now am so near the red box, it's time to hang the Captain Navin Singh Ahluwaliya's photo to the hall of the fame."Capt.R said politely," Tell me your location sir, I'll come there....."Colonel Chandra said," No, no, no, call back your search party Captain."Capt.R said innocently," Sir, someone is using the KMA for anti-national activities. Someone was thefting the arms from the academy, Brigadier has said me to give the report about this incident."Colonel Chandra said bossily," Good, you're going to report that to Lala Gehlot."Capt.R said politely," Right sir, Jai Hind."Colonel Chandra said," Jai Hind."And disconnected the phone & saw towards the man who was sitting in front of him & gave the mobile. That man took the mobile & said bossily," Just you listen to my orders like a good boy then you'll be alive."Colonel Chandra said clearly with anger," Don't think about me Lala, before I die you'll be surrounded by Capt.R & his troops."Lala said bossily," I know how to control my dear old godson because am playing this game for ages."And he motioned to his accomplice to take care of him & went from there. Colonel Chandra turned towards the window & saw the pair of eyes watching him weirdly. When he blinked then the eyes had gone & he thought that he was dreaming. Next morning, Capt.R closed his cabin door & about to go then Naina came & stood there. Capt.R was thinking about Naina & yesterday's incident & said casually," Oh, Cadet Singh."His tone was like he's recognising Naina for the first time. Naina asked curiously," Why, didn't you recognise me?"Capt.R said innocently," As a matter of fact, you were in that sari yesterday then I was in difficulty to recognise you now."Naina smiled sweetly at him hearing that remark. Capt.R was mesmerised seeing her sweet smile but Naina cleared her throat & he came to present world. Then Capt.R & Naina said in unison," I want to talk to you."And then both smiled sweetly. Then Capt.R said immediately," Naina, don't you think that you crossed some limit during the revolt against Capt.A?"Naina saw him innocently."There was no need to destroy Capt.A's personal equipments."Naina bent her head with shame."I want you & remaining Cadets to ask sorry to Capt.A."Naina nodded & went from there.
NSA said," Slowly, very slowly, Capt.R was falling for Naina & Naina was falling for Capt.R. But till now Capt.R was in guilt that he killed me but now he's in guilt that what he's feeling for Naina."
Naina explained what Capt.R is ordering them to do to her friends. Ali realised his mistake immediately that he'd never helped them destroying Capt.A's musical instruments. But Huda didn't think about that & said them to relax. But Ali got angry & said to Huda," Huda bhai, why you call Capt.A as Geet Gaata Banjara & Jabreeli. He's our teacher, just give some respect & speaking of emotions, if someone enter your fields & destroy your Buffaloes & its home then you would say to them that you did a very good work?"Huda became silent & didn't answer him. Here Capt.A was getting ready to leave the academy. On that time Pooja came & pinned her letter to his door & knocked it & hid herself. Capt.A opened his door & saw that no one was there & about to go inside then saw Pooja's letter & took it & went inside & read it. Pooja has written an apology letter for what she did with him & said that if he has forgiven them then meet them in game room at 1600hrs.But Capt.A remembered his promise to Capt.R & went from there taking his luggage. He stopped in front of Capt.R's cabin & about to knock but stopped himself & went further. He gave his luggage to orderly to keep it in the car & about to go then he listened to the music which was coming from game room. Naina & her friends were playing the music from the instruments. Everyone stopped with disappointment & Capt.A stood in the doorway silently. Naina asked innocently," What happened, why we stopped?"Pooja said disappointedly," Sir is not going to come."Yudi said disappointedly," Am sure that sir isn't going to forgive us." Huda said proudly," Yaar Yudi, it's so strange. Though Abhimanyu sir not forgives us but when I was beating these drums then I thought that I'll be not in the guilt of broking Abhimanyu sir's instruments. Because I sold out my buffaloes to buy drums set for sir."Capt.A's ear became straight. Pooja said innocently," I've forgotten my mobiles face. Now I hear only the sound of the Guitar."Arjun said," I sold out my last 4 bottles of alcohol to the owner, and then he gave me this flute in discount."Naina said flashing the trumpet which she held," This is Capt.A's favourite instrument & you know what I did, I broke my piggy bank in front of the owner then he gave me this trumpet."Pooja asked Ali worriedly," Ali, what do you say in the home? You see I was making a tune in my mind, it's sad that Capt.A would've heard that."Everyone kept the instrument disappointedly but Huda didn't lose his courage & said that Capt.A will come but Pooja said that time is showing 5pm & about to go from game room then Capt.A entered the room with an angry expression on his face. Everyone saw him nervously then he took the Guitar & tuned it & said smiling widely," Ready to rock'n' roll?"Everyone smiled & followed him. Capt.R walked towards his cabin after sometime & then Naina stopped him & said impressively," Sir, we've asked sorry to Capt.A."Capt.R said impressively," That's good Cadet Singh; I knew that you'd do that easily."Naina said directly,"Sir, I wanted to talk with you."Capt.R said freely," Then feel free Naina."Naina said directly," First promise me that you'll not refuse me."Capt.R thought for a moment & said calmly,"Ok, what is it?"Naina said directly,"Sir, what do you know about point 1857?"Capt.R said nervously," How do you know about this place?"Naina said curiously," Place........is it a place? I thought it's a book or something from the name. But you're telling it's a place then I want to visit this place."Capt.R said sternly," No you can't."Naina asked curiously," Why?"Capt.R said feeling battered," Because that place is so sacred & secret & some conditions have to be fulfilled to go to that place for every Cadet."Naina said determinedly," Am also the KMA's Cadet, am also ready to fulfil every conditions."Capt.R said try to less her enthusiasm so that she refuses,"Ok then listen, we've to go to that place when the night & moon dawns."Naina said enthusiastically not accepting defeat,"Ok then let's go before light outs."Capt.R said feeling flattered," Listen to go that place we've to follow the dress code, some stylish & new & I think you're not having that."Naina thought for some time. Thank you & I'll see you at 1900hrs."And she went smiling impressively. Capt.R said to himself," Point 1857.........she's not going to come."And he went disappointedly.
