Chapter 17 Dead

Alexia POV

We were all swinging from roof to roof and when I say 'we' I mean the rear guard group that I was to. Mikasa was also part of the rear guard with me. We were all after an Abnormal Titan. He was running really fast than any other Titan.

"Why is the son of a bitch ignoring us?" some guy asked.

I really didn't try to learn their names when they told them to us.

"It's an Abnormal! Stop trying to figure it out!" some other guy replied.

"He's too fast! There's no way we'll get to him!" a girl said.

"We won't make it!" the first guy from before said.

I 'tsk' before I swang faster than anyone in the group by only using a small amount of gas. I was now ahead of everyone. In a flash, I was above the disgusting creature. I cut the nape of the Titan.

The body immediately went crashing to the ground with me standing on the back of its head. When it landed on the ground I looked up and saw a bunch of people looking at me.

'Wait, why are there still people here?' I thought. I then watched Mikasa land right beside me.

"What are you all doing?" Mikasa asked.

Just then I looked at the gate and saw a wagon blocking the entrance.

"Good timing! Make these morons push my wagon! I'll pay you handsomely!" a fat man spoke.

I glared at him and immediately I recognized him. He's a man that sells goods in the Underground. I think his name was Dimo Reeves. I saw Reeves then suddenly look at me and his face immediately went pale.

"You" he said. I gave him a death glare.

"Shut up" I said with a threatening voice. Immediately he went quiet.

"Right now, my comrades are dying back there. They are dying from fighting Titans" Mikasa said with a really cold expression.

"Exactly! It is your duty as a soldier to die for the survival of the citizens! Don't get high up on yourselves because of the safety we had for the past hundred years!" Reeves said.

Before Mikasa could make a move, I jumped down and ran at Reeves. Immediately two of his men got in my way, but in a flash, I knocked them out cold and was now standing right in front of Reeves with my blade right in his neck.

"I will let you decided. Let these people go first or die" I said with a threatening voice.

"Sir..." one of Reeves man said.

"Pull the damn wagon out" Reeves said.

We watched Reeves men move the wagon out. Once the wagon was no longer blocking the entrance the people immediately began leaving. I 'tsk' before making my way back to the formation.

"Thank you, miss!" I heard a small voice said. I stopped and turned around to see a little girl with her Mother.

"Thanks to you, we'll live. We are forever grateful" the Mother said.

I smirked before putting my blades away and saluting. Mikasa who was next to me also did the same. We turned around and left. Just then it began to rain. I flew to a roof where I was greeted by one of our superiors.

"Good work, Suzuki, Ackerman" our superior said.

"Thank you" Mikasa replied. I didn't say anything and stayed quiet.

We all continue killing Titans. After a while, they told us to retreat, but I didn't listen and just left.

"Cadet Suzuki, where are you going?!" I heard my superior asked.
